Irish Whale And Dolphin Group
Animals/Wildlife
The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group is dedicated to the conservation and better understanding of cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoise) in Irish waters. The Group was founded in 1990 to establish an Irish stranding and sighting scheme and to campaign for the declaration of Irish territorial waters as a whale and dolphin sanctuary. Just one year later in June 1991 the Irish Government declared all Irish waters to be a whale and dolphin sanctuary, the first of its kind in Europe. We work towards making the Irish Whale and Dolphin Sanctuary effective in the conservation of all cetaceans that either live in, or migrate through Irish waters. We work in co-operation with industry, fishermen and other groups whose interests may sometimes conflict with those of cetacean conservation. We will work side by side with them to solve cetacean conservation problems to the benefit of both humans and cetaceans.
Irish Youth Foundation - IYF
Children/Education
Whenever possible IYF seeks to address the underlying causes of poverty, educational disadvantage, homelessness and social exclusion experienced by children and young people. Due to a wide range of social factors many children are denied their most basic rights - the right to a decent education, the right to be supported by caring adults and the right to a way of life that is free of fear and discrimination. We passionately believe that achievement starts with opportunity.

Our environmental education centre and gardens will provide much needed information on environmental issues and will promote the understanding of biodiversity and environmental issues amongst young people. The Iroko Foundation carries out evaluations and project design for a number of other conservation charities. This provides a means of raising income for the charity and also enables Iroko to exchange ideas and experience with other projects elsewhere in Africa.

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
Arts/Culture
Isabella Stewart Gardner first welcomed visitors to her museum on New Year's Day, 1903. On that evening guests listened to the music of Bach, Mozart, and Schumann, gazed in wonder at the courtyard full of flowers, and viewed one of the nation's finest collections of art. Today, visitors experience much the same thing. The Gardner Museum has remained essentially unchanged since its founder's death in 1924. Unchanged but certainly not stagnant. Three floors of galleries surround a garden courtyard blooming with life in all seasons. The galleries are filled with paintings, sculpture, tapestries, furniture, and decorative arts from cultures spanning thirty centuries. The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum displays an art collection of world importance, including works that rank among the most significant of their type. Isabella Stewart Gardner collected and carefully displayed a collection comprised of more than 2,500 objects - paintings, sculpture, furniture, textiles, drawings, silver, ceramics, illuminated manuscripts, rare books, photographs and letters - from ancient Rome, Medieval Europe, Renaissance Italy, Asia, the Islamic world and 19th-century France and America. Built to evoke a 15th-century Venetian palace, the Museum itself provides an atmospheric setting for Isabella Stewart Gardner's inventive creation.

ISOSS
Disability
We are a nonprofit organization created to benefit those who are physically challenged due to disability caused during birth, illness or injury. We help men, women and children, in Ghana, West Africa. Some of the patients we have helped have struggled in poverty and poor living conditions with physical handicaps such as deformed or twisted limbs, paralysis, amputations, and various other physical limitations that have rendered some immobile and many completely dependent on others for even the most basic of needs. Many of these disabilities could have been prevented through better nutrition, immunizations, care or medical treatment. We have a chance to make a difference. Already, crutches, wheel chairs, orthopedic shoes, leg braces, medical care, surgical procedures and more are making a huge impact on the lives of many Ghanaians. But there are countless others waiting and hoping for their chance at a better life.
