Drexel University College of Medicine (DUCOM) has the largest medical student enrollment of any private medical school in the nation. Graduate students number more than 500, and the College is the academic partner in the education of some 550 medical residents. The College has established one of the largest centers for spinal cord research in the Mid-Atlantic Region, and founded one of the leading centers for malaria study in the nation. We work toward reducing the harm that alcohol may be causing a person whether that involves health, employment, relationships or lifestyle. As we are able to provide a safe setting with trained professionals, many different kinds of people access our service. For some this may mean asking a few questions regarding alcohol units, for others it may mean meeting on a one-to-one basis to explore deeper-rooted issues affecting their behaviour.

The Dublin Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a registered charity, established in 1840 to prevent cruelty to animals and is now Ireland's largest animal welfare organisation. Cruelty, neglect, accidental injury and sickness to animals continues today - and we are still here dealing with these problems. We fight animal cruelty and abuse in all of its forms. We also provide direct care for thousands of animals at our shelter in Rathfarnham for both domestic pets and wildlife and also through our mobile veterinary clinics.

The organisation was founded by a group of Trinity and UCD students in 1969, who began by providing much-needed soup and sandwiches to people who were sleeping rough in Dublin city centre. We still provide the Dublin Simon Soup Run, 365 nights of the year, but things have moved on since then and our range of services reflect the contemporary needs of people who are homeless in Dublin. We provide many services which aim to help those who are sleeping rough on the streets, people who are in their own accommodation - and those who are at any of the stages in between. These services include the Rough Sleeper Team who engage with those sleeping rough on the streets and provide referrals; emergency accommodation; specialist health, addiction treatment and learning services; help for people to make the transition out of homelessness, and supporting people in their own homes.

Headquartered in Jersey (formerly Jersey Zoo), Durrell works in some of the most threatened environments on the planet, focussing on the rarest species and the most fragile habitats. Durrell has achieved so much. In Jersey, Durrell’s major breeding firsts include: Alaotran gentle lemurs, Rodrigues and Livingstone’s fruit bats, Rodrigues fodys, Madagascan flat-tailed tortoises, Round Island boas and Montserrat mountain chicken frogs. Thanks to the generous support of our members and friends, the Trust has also brought a number of species back from the brink of extinction. But this is only the tip of the iceberg. With the planet’s biodiversity in desperate peril and in more need of help than ever, what we all do to contribute to the earth’s health and wellbeing, including the protection and maintenance of vital species worldwide, will be critical.

Over the past years Dymocks Children's Charities (formerly the Dymocks Literacy Foundation) has supported many projects across Australia helping kids in need read. The Dymocks Children's Charities have many programs running around Australia but the need for more help far outweighs what we can do. Dyslexia Action is a national charity and the UK's leading provider of services and support for people with dyslexia and literacy difficulties. We are specialists in assessment and tuition for children and adults. We are the UK's largest supplier of teacher training courses to specialise in dyslexia. We also have a workplace consultation service to address the implications of dyslexia at work. Our services are available from 26 centres around the country. We work to influence and improve the practice of mainstream educational services for childrern and adults through: specialist teacher training; the development of high-quality teaching tools ; the evaluation of teaching methods to achieve better practice and by improving awareness and understanding of dyslexia.

Since 1995, the DRT has been helping to improve the lives of many thousands of young people with dyslexia. The DRT exists wholly to support, and promote, scientific research into the nature and causes of dyslexia and related conditions, and to provide clinical services to children and adults with these conditions. Many of the research projects would be impossible without the help of volunteers. In the DRT clinics we carry out research studies into learning conditions. These studies investigate genetics, neurology, imaging, electrophysiology, psychophysics, cognition, diagnosis, and treatment of dyslexia. We want to better understand what is happening in the brain during reading development so that we are more able to help when reading difficulties occur.
