The Foundation has been actively engaged in advocating, designing and implementing innovative Information and Communication Technology enabled initiatives to help meet Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) defined by the United Nations. We target women, economically and socially disadvantaged communities and youth in India and other developing countries. Gender equality, youth empowerment and poverty alleviation dovetailed with the MDGs are the main goals of the Trust.

Disability
In 1986, leaders of the Disabled American Veterans National Organization set up the DAV Charitable Service Trust to advance initiatives that might not fit easily into the scheme of what is traditionally offered through the VA, state veterans' programs, or the veterans' service organizations. In addition, while the Trust cannot replace every dollar Congress and the Administration shift away from veterans' programs, we feel a duty to step in to the fullest extent possible when funding cuts threaten to seriously harm rehabilitation and therapy programs that are essential to disabled veterans.

Children/Education
Our Missions impress upon often forgotten children that they are important enough for our volunteers to travel halfway around the world to make sure they have access to reading material. Delivering the books personally is the only way to provide absolute certainty that our books reach the children they are collected for. Shipping is prohibitively expensive and English language books are too rare in Ethiopia. It is difficult to imagine the conditions that millions of Ethiopian children live in if you have never visited. Few Americans have the opportunity to make this type of trip and even fewer have the resources. Our Project opens a world of awareness for Americans who are willing to share this experience. With each volunteer that joins our Mission, another advocate for child literacy is born.

The Day of Difference Foundation is a charitable organisation dedicated to working for critically injured children and their families. Throughout Australia over 60,000 children are seriously injured each year. We work together with our sponsors and donors to build a community of support for all children and their families who are struggling with life changing critical injuries. During the past four years the funds we have raised have helped make a significant contribution to the survival and recovery of critically injured children. We provide equipment and facilities to save children's lives and give them the best possible opportunity for a full recovery and we fund medical research into burns treatments and skin cell technology. The Day of Difference Foundation provides support services for critically injured children and their families and advocates for the safety of all our children. We aim to educate the community on the acceptance of children who are different.

We support the many Deaf children and Deaf women and girls, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, who are denied opportunities to get basic education and gain suitable employment. Our major goals are to educate and support members of the Deaf Community to enable them to access relevant services and to educate the wider community on the needs of Deaf people.

Deafblind UK was launched in 1928 by a small group of deafblind people and their carers to offer mutual support and understanding in the face of conditions they found 'unjustifiably cruel and hard.' Since then, Deafblind UK has developed into a national charity chaired by a deafblind person. Our aim is to enable deafblind people living with this unique disability to maintain their independence, quality of life, and reduce the isolation that Deafblindness creates. DebRA was founded in 1978 by a group of parents whose children were affected by EB. At this time only some 200 people with EB were known to health professionals in the UK. The original aims of the charity were to stimulate knowledge of and interest in EB for the benefit of those with the condition and their families and to fund medical research into EB. From these humble origins DebRA has grown significantly with DebRA Groups now having been established in 32 countries around the world. DebRA is the only national patient support group and medical research charity in the UK working on behalf of people living with EB.

Epidermolysis Bullosa is rare skin disorder, both within Australia and globally. For many years, individuals and small state groups had been the primary source of services and support for families struggling with an EB skin disorder. A collaborative effort was made by the states in 2005 when we officially founded DebRA Australia, in order to create a larger network of support for these Australian families. DebRA Australia offers advocacy, financial support, emotional support and networking opportunities to families who are living with EB. DebRA Australia also uses donations to fund local and international research into a cure for EB. Our aim is to work for a life free of pain. We want to investigate and implement ways to help sufferers in their daily lives, while educating the general public and health care professionals about EB.
