Protection of the amazon forest is vital for humanity's survival. The Amazon is the largest fresh water reserve on earth and its destruction would trigger vast climatic changes and loss of invaluable biodiversity which will affect all our lifes. Aquaverde association was created in 2002 to spport indigenous peoples of the Amazon region in protecting the primary forest still standing. We currently work with two indigenous tribes, the Surui in the state of Rondonia and the Munduruku in the State of Para, in Brasil.
Aquila Way
Community/Family
We recognise that housing and support are often only the start that individuals require and that as they develop their skills and confidence the support we offer needs to be tailored appropriately. So as individuals travel towards full independence we will work with a wide range of partners to provide suitable services. To enable us to do all of these activities in a professional manner we recognise that we must continue to develop quality governance and management of the charity, strengthening and improving as required. As a Christian charity we have worked hard to be able to clearly enunciate our values and what this means in practice. Whilst the clarity of our values, and our commitment to them, remains as strong as ever, we will continue to deliver our services to individuals without discrimination, to those of any faith, and those with no faith. We will demonstrate our faith through the service we offer from emergency to independence. We continue to strengthen the quality and breadth of our current provision, while identifying the gaps in provision at the point of crisis and respond with excellent quality services and relationships. we also further develop initiatives and relationships to move individuals and communities on into independence.

ARC
Community/Family
ARC is the only national charity which provides non-directive support and information to expectant and bereaved parents throughout and after the antenatal screening and testing process. ARC offers specialised support for as long as it is needed when parents receive a worrying screening result or when a fetal anomaly is diagnosed in their unborn baby*. Around 750,000 women in the UK become pregnant each year. More than 35,000 will be told there is a risk their unborn baby has a serious fetal anomaly. Naturally, this causes a great deal of anxiety and uncertainty. Most parents will ultimately be reassured the pregnancy is progressing as expected. Sadly, some will receive the devastating news that their baby has a serious, sometimes lethal disorder, or a condition where the outlook is uncertain.
Arc Of Anchorage
Disability
The Arc of Anchorage is a private, not-for-profit organization, a grassroots organization with more than 140,000 members who are affiliated with nearly one thousand state and local chapters across the country. The Arc of Anchorage was founded in 1957 by a small group of parents that came together to fight for the rights of their children with disabilities. Rights like living at home, instead of in an institution , the right to go to school, the right to be treated like other people, to be a part of the community, to be respected, to have friends, to decide what they want their life to be and to work toward those goals just like anyone else. We have a promise to keep - a promise we made more than five decades ago. A promise to be here, ready to help, whenever a family comes knocking at our door, looking for hope and a helping hand.

The Archaeological Conservancy, established in 1980, is the only national non-profit organization dedicated to acquiring and preserving the best of our nation's remaining archaeological sites. Every day, prehistoric and historic archaeological sites in the United States are lost forever, along with the precious information they contain. Modern-day looters use backhoes and bulldozers to recover artifacts for the international market. Urban development and agricultural methods such as land leveling and topsoil mining destroy ancient sites. The Conservancy protects these sites by acquiring the land on which they rest, preserving them for posterity.

Arizona Humane Society
Animals/Wildlife
We were founded in 1957 as a private nonprofit organization by a compassionate group of volunteers who recognized the need to end animal suffering in our community. Our first shelter opened in north Phoenix's Sunnyslope area with the goal of placing unwanted or abandoned animals in new, loving homes. Soon after, we quickly became more than just a place for animal adoptions. Within the first year of opening, for example, the first ambulance began rescuing ill or injured strays. Our own television show, Pets on Parade, hit the airwaves in the metro area, starring adoptable pets from our shelter. (Pets on Parade has made history as Phoenix's longest-running television.) And we added comprehensive humane-education and low-cost spay/neuter services in the community. The Arizona Humane Society is the state's largest, private non-profit, 501(c)(3) animal shelter.
