Protection of the amazon forest is vital for humanity's survival. The Amazon is the largest fresh water reserve on earth and its destruction would trigger vast climatic changes and loss of invaluable biodiversity which will affect all our lifes. Aquaverde association was created in 2002 to spport indigenous peoples of the Amazon region in protecting the primary forest still standing. We currently work with two indigenous tribes, the Surui in the state of Rondonia and the Munduruku in the State of Para, in Brasil.
