As an accredited training centre we also offer certificated employability skills training. Clients may choose to work in a horticultural nursery and garden centre, a factory doing light assembly and/or packing and manufacturing wooden garden furniture, or provide garden maintenance and landscaping. Working gives a feeling of belonging and for those socially excluded by their disability the ability to contribute and integrate into society.

Wherever the Need

Based in GBR United Kingdom
Humanitarian Aid

Wherever the Need is a UK charity offering a new look at giving and supporting. Our aim is a holistic approach to the provision and use of eco-sanitation toilets and clean water, which we believe to be vital to the good health of both people and the planet. Once these fundamentals are in place, our focus is the development of sustainable livelihoods. It is our priority to implement projects that will directly benefit individuals over the long-term in the most efficient way possible. This enables sponsors of the charity to respond specifically to the needs of local people (rather than indirectly through Governmental or large Non-Governmental Organisations) thus enabling, where wished, a connection to be established between those making the donation and those benefiting from it. In tandem with the provision of sanitation, water and livelihoods, WTN has responded to the building of houses and community centres in areas stricken by disaster

In 1991, a handful of men in Canada decided they had a responsibility to urge men to speak out against violence against women. They decided that wearing a white ribbon would be a symbol of men's opposition to men's violence against women. After only six weeks preparation, as many as one hundred thousand men across Canada wore a white ribbon. The WRC is the largest effort in the world of men working to end men's violence against women. It relies on volunteer support and financial contributions from individuals and organizations.

Who Cares? Trust

Based in GBR United Kingdom
Children/Education

The Who Cares? Trust was set up as a charity in 1992 to improve the everyday lives and future life chances of these children, of whom there are currently 74,000 around the UK. The charity grew out of the magazine Who Cares? (started in 1985) which we still publish today. As well as helping thousands of children in care directly through our publications and projects, we also help bring about change by guiding and influencing those responsible for children in care. We help them to think and do differently, with the needs and perspective of the child at the centre. We give young people in care a voice through their involvement in our magazines and publications, and by helping them relay their concerns and views to decision-makers in local and central government.
