Parity for Disability began in 1953 to provide services for children with cerebral palsy and related disabilities, at a time when, through the efforts of their parents, services where just beginning. Parity for Disability are pioneers in providing services to and addressing the needs of people with multiple disabilities. Our organisation takes every opportunity to share our knowledge and experience with decision makers, and we continue to work hard to influence policy.

The Parkinson's Disease Foundation (PDF) is a leading national presence in Parkinson's disease research, education and public advocacy. We are working for the nearly one million people in the US who live with Parkinson’s disease (PD) by funding promising scientific research to find the causes of and a cure for Parkinson's while supporting people with Parkinson’s, their families and caregivers through educational programs and support services. Since its founding in 1957, PDF has funded over $85 million worth of scientific research in Parkinson’s disease, supporting the work of leading scientists throughout the world.

Every hour, someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson's. Because we're here, no one has to face Parkinson's alone. We bring people with Parkinson's, their carers and families together via our network of local groups, our website and our free, confidential helpline. Because we're here, no one has to face Parkinson's alone. Specialist nurses, our supporters and staff provide information and training on every aspect of Parkinson's. As the UK's Parkinson's support and research charity we're leading the work to find a cure, and we're closer than ever. We also campaign to change attitudes and demand better services. We've spent more than £50million on research, secured over 300 specialist Parkinson's nurses and provided information, friendship and support to hundreds of thousands of people.

Parnell Trust is a well-established provider of exceptional early childhood care and education in central Auckland. We operate three full day early childhood centres, situated in the beautiful tree lined residential streets of Parnell, where we provide safe, nurturing and challenging environments, supported by responsive teachers. A broad range of adult and community education programmes are offered each year, from January to June and July to December, at Parnell Community Centre.

Arising from the active worship of four Uniting Church congregations, Parramatta Mission is a major regional provider of community services. Located in the Parramatta and Holroyd local government areas, the impact of the Mission's services extends throughout Sydney's West and Hills districts. We work in partnership with state and local governments, the business community, other non-government organisations, community groups and concerned individuals to create a supportive and caring community for those in need. The services we provide focus on those whose needs are most acute or those most neglected, especially people experiencing crisis, people living with mental illness and people who are homeless. We seek to create community with and for those in need, based on their human dignity, rights and responsibilities. Our vision is a community where all are included, valued and enabled.

Participative Development Initiative (PDI) is a non-governmental organisation that was established in November 1997. PDI strives to contribute to alleviating poverty through promoting sustainable development and the strengthening of the institutional capacity of established community, corporate and institutional structures. The organisation sees unsustainable-development, social fragmentation and the lack of access to basic services as the root causes of poverty. Participative Development Initiative has conceptualised strategic programmes and projects tailored around building local participation capacity, enhancement of self esteem, sustainable development promotion and facilitation of local self reliance to further these aims.

Partners for Water and Sanitation is a not-for profit partnership that focuses on sharing technical expertise to build the capacity of the water and sanitation sector in Africa. We match the demand for skills and advice from our in-country African partners with professionals from the UK water sector. Our UK partners then provide their staff on a voluntary basis to share knowledge and technical expertise to support a diverse range of projects. Our aim is to foster long term relationships with our partners to strengthen skills and performance of the water sector to ultimately improve water management and sanitation. We care passionately about the plight of the poor in Africa. We believe that our unique partnership approach makes a real difference in building capacity and strengthening the governance systems necessary to deliver more and better water and sanitation services to all. Water and sanitation is a cornerstone of Africa's development and is vital to people's health and quality of life.

Partners In Health is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation based in Boston, Massachusetts, and active in the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, Russia, and the United States. Our mission is to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care. Through service, training, advocacy, and research, and by establishing long-term relationships with sister organizations, PIH strives to achieve two overarching goals: to bring the benefits of modern medical science to those most in need of them and to serve as an antidote to despair.

PASCaP was conceptualised in 1989 in response to the overwhelming effects of poverty on the lives of children in South Africa's apartheid townships. Unemployment, alcoholism, child abuse and gangsterism were some of the debilitating problems confronting children and family life. The primary groups targeted for skills and resources development are women, youth and the unemployed. Development partnerships are initiated and maintained with communities, schools, private institutions, government and non-profit organisations.
Partnership for a Drug-Free America

The Partnership for a Drug-Free America is a nonprofit organization that unites parents, renowned scientists and communications professionals to help families raise healthy children. Best known for its research-based national public education programs, the Partnership motivates and equips parents to prevent their children from using drugs and alcohol, and to find help and treatment for family and friends in trouble. The centerpiece of this effort is an online resource center at drugfree.org, featuring interactive tools that translate the latest science and research on teen behavior, addiction and treatment into easy to understand tips and tools. Research conducted by AP and MTV recently showed that kids see their parents as heroes– at drugfree.org, parents can connect with each other, tap into expert advice for children of all ages, and find the support they want and need in their role as hero to their kids.

In the late 1970s, legions of destitute homeless men and women began appearing on the streets of New York City in numbers not seen since the Great Depression. As important as it is, overnight lodging is no longer the crux of the Partnership's mission. We are working to end homelessness by 2020 through innovative, proven approaches that help individuals and families navigate the difficult road from life in a shelter to independent living and financial self-sufficiency.
PARWAZ MicroFinance Institution

Carefully planned and run completely by an experienced Afghan staff, PARWAZ provides financial services in the form of credit and savings to disadvantaged and poor women so they can start their own micro businesses and thus take a step towards improving their socio-economic situation. PARWAZ was one of the first organizations to provide Microfinance in Kabul. The strength of the PARWAZ lies in the fact that it is a local NGO for Afghans by Afghans and is managed by experienced Afghan Microfinance practitioners, which enables it to understand the cultural values of the people and foresee potential problems and to take preventative measures when designing the methodology and selecting target groups for its program. The methodology of delivery of micro credit is designed with first hand knowledge of Afghan cultural boundaries and nuances combined with Microfinance best practices.
Pasado's Safe Haven

Pasado's Safe Haven is one of the premiere animal rescue organizations in the United States, dedicated to 24-hour rescue and rehabilitation of dogs, cats and farm animals. Located on 85 pastoral and wooded acres one hour northeast of Seattle, Washington, the sanctuary is home to hundreds of dogs, cats, cows, chickens, ducks, goats, turkeys, pigs, and donkeys. Most arrived from abuse or neglect and now live out their lives in peace. Pasado's Safe Haven has waged numerous prosecutions against animal abusers, winning major convictions. Pasado's Safe Haven offers rewards, through the media, to seek out and prosecute those who have committed heinous acts of animal cruelty. Rescuing animals is only part of the answer - we want to insure that those who hurt animal will never do it again.

Pathfinder International

Since 1957, Pathfinder International has maintained an unwavering belief in the right of women and families to have access to contraception and to quality reproductive health care. Pathfinder's founder Clarence Gamble, a pioneer in family planning and maternal health, introduced contraception to more than 60 developing countries, including some where Pathfinder is still engaged today. Pathfinder works in remote locations, under the most difficult conditions, serving the most vulnerable people. We collaborate with governments, NGOs, and community- and faith-based organizations to make contraception available and provide the quality care needed to ensure safe childbirth and healthy families.

The aim of the Pathways to Manhood programme is twofold. The first is to assist in the transition from boy to young man which is a critical period in the life of any teenage boy. The second is to inspire our boys to have a vision and reach their potential. The Pathways to Manhood programme was developed by men interested and concerned about the health and wellbeing of boys and young men in Australia. These men believe that boys need a range of adult men as role models, confidants, mentors, heroes and friends who will journey with them as they develop their male identity and thus grow into balanced integrated men themselves.

Pathways Roodepoort is a non profit organization which officially opened in February 2005 and is currently renting a house in Wilropark. Pathways caters for children suffering a variety of serious conditions such as severe brain damage (Cerebral Palsy), Chromosome Disorders, Developmental Delay, Autism and Self Injurious Behaviour. Not only is Pathways Roodepoort a facility which provides a schooling environment specially geared for children with severe disabilities, but it is also a training facility for trainee carers who are taught under the guidance of the Pathways Roodepoort principal, as well as the Physiotherapist, the appropriate stimulation for children with serious disabilities.
