In the late 1970s, legions of destitute homeless men and women began appearing on the streets of New York City in numbers not seen since the Great Depression. As important as it is, overnight lodging is no longer the crux of the Partnership's mission. We are working to end homelessness by 2020 through innovative, proven approaches that help individuals and families navigate the difficult road from life in a shelter to independent living and financial self-sufficiency.
