In 1991 The Dove Foundation began promoting family-friendly entertainment. Our standards and criteria are based on Judeo/Christian values, free from the pressure of commercial interests. We believe in a positive approach of commending high-quality, wholesome movies rather than condemning filmmakers for not meeting those standards.

DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital is AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) accredited. AAHA recognizes high standards of veterinary excellence. Only 15% of veterinary hospitals in the United States and Canada are recognized for their high standards and are accredited through AHAA. DoveLewis, in association with the regional veterinary community, provides 24-hour emergency, critical care, education and community outreach.

Down Syndrome Ireland has grown from modest beginnings in 1971 into a truly national organisation. It is the biggest single group concerned with the welfare of people with a learning disability in Ireland. We provide a nationally recognised voice for people with Down syndrome and their families, together with information and advice. DSI influences policy, raises public awareness and works towards the improvement of education and services for children and adults with Down syndrome.

Down Syndrome NSW is an independent, registered charity established and run by parents. The Aim of Down Syndrome NSW is to encourage people with Down syndrome to fulfil their potential for successful and happy lives, in a society which knows their abilities and is supportive of their needs. Our work is to represent the interests and respond to the needs of people with Down syndrome in the major aspects of their lives; as members of the family, in their individual pursuits, and as members of the community.

DSRI uses a unique approach to teaching children and teenagers who have Down syndrome. In our model, speech pathologists, teachers and therapists in social skills collaborate to deliver comprehensive academic programming. Through one-on-one and small group teaching, our students are challenged and have fun. Central to the Down Syndrome Research Institute’s work is the research that demonstrates that the quality of life for individuals with DS correlates closely with their ability to communicate. The improvement of students' communication, and the integration of speech pathology principles in all instructional situations are top priorities. We endeavour to have our greatest impact, not only in enhancing individual student’s achievements, but in demonstrating that certain educational approaches and strategies can and should be employed by mainstream education providers.

Down to Earth monitors and campaigns on the social and human implications of environmental issues in Indonesia. We aim to support civil society groups and provide an international voice at the levels of national governments, foreign companies, aid agencies and international funding institutions. Our main focus is the right of the rural poor and indigenous peoples of the 'outer islands' to determine their own futures.

Since 1970, we have grown from being a local parent support group to a national charity with over 20,000 members, a national office in Teddington Middlesex, offices in Northern Ireland and Wales. We run a helpline; provide info about all aspects of living with Down's syndrome including specialist advisers on benefits, education and health; advise new parents or anyone experiencing difficulties

The Downtown Rescue Mission (DRM) is a Christian non-profit organization serving some of the most economically and socially disadvantaged individuals and families in the greater Huntsville, Alabama community. DPA (New Zealand) is an umbrella organisation representing people with disabilities, the organisations involved in advocacy on their behalf, and service providers. DPA has a network of regional assemblies who advocate on local issues. As a national assembly encompassing people with all types of disabilities — physical, sensory, intellectual, psychiatric, neurological and age related — DPA is the voice of people with disabilities in New Zealand.

The Dr Hadwen Trust for Humane Research (DHT) is the UK’s leading medical research charity that funds and promotes the development of techniques and procedures to replace the use of animals in biomedical research and testing. To further this aim, the DHT supports and assists scientists to implement existing techniques and develop new ones which are more human-relevant and replace animal experiments. We award grants to scientists in universities, hospitals and research organisations following a rigorous peer-reviewed selection procedure. Only those projects with the highest scientific calibre and the best potential for the replacement of animals will be awarded funding.

The Danish Refugee Council is a private, humanitarian organisation founded in 1956 that works in more than 30 countries throughout the world. DRC fulfils its mandate by providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations – refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs) and host communities in the conflict areas of the world; and by advocating on behalf of conflict-affected populations internationally, and in Denmark, on the basis of humanitarian principles and the Human Rights Declaration. We understand "durable solutions" as any means by which the situation of refugees can be permanently and satisfactorily resolved, enabling them to live normal lives. In Denmark, DRC assists refugees in all aspects of integration as well as asylum procedures.

Founded in 1999, Dream A Dream empowers children from vulnerable backgrounds by developing life skills while at the same time sensitizing the community through active volunteering leading to a non-discriminatory society where unique differences are appreciated. Dream A Dream provides children from vulnerable backgrounds with non-traditional educational opportunities designed to allow them to explore, innovate and build important life skills. These life skills are fundamental to child/youth development and to the successful transition into adulthood and becoming fully functioning and productive members of our society.

Dreamflight is a registered UK charity that changes young lives through taking seriously ill and disabled children, without their parents, on the holiday of a lifetime to Orlando, Florida. Once a year, 192 deserving children from all over the UK, accompanied by a team of medical carers, board a chartered Boeing 747 and head to Florida to spend 10 magical days of fun and excitement. Many children could not undertake such a trip without the support of the army of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and non-medical volunteers who care for the children 24 hours a day. Dreamflight is not just a holiday. The children leave their families behind giving them an opportunity to discover independence, confidence, and a whole new outlook on life. Often for the first time, these children realise that they are not alone, and they are not the odd one out. They see children around them who have also suffered, they gain perspective, and experience things they never thought possible.

Dream Foundation, founded in Santa Barbara in 1994 by Thomas Rollerson, is the first national wish granting organization for adults suffering life-threatening illness. Dream Foundation helps adults find peace and closure with the realization of a final wish. The work of Dream Foundation is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Odyssey VistaCare HealthCare Foundation.

The Dreamcatcher Foundation is a registered charitable foundation with objects and a mission to address situations unique to the First Nations community. The Foundation will provide support through grants to individuals with a goal of developing youth as future community leaders. Dreams Take Flight is a national volunteer charitable organization dedicated to providing the trip of a lifetime to physically, mentally or socially challenged children. With the aid of Air Canada, other national and local organizations and businesses, money is raised to make the dreams a reality in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Halifax. Funds not required for its primary purpose can be gifted by Dreams Take Flight to other registered charities that benefit physically, mentally or socially challenged children and are within the policies adopted by Dreams Take Flight Canada.

Dress for Success Worldwide, a not-for-profit organization, was founded in New York City in 1997 as an answer to the needs of low-income women who are seeking employment and self-sufficiency. Our organization stems the underlying cause of cyclical poverty through grassroots programs that produce long-term solutions. Dress for Success has responded to the needs of the women that we serve by providing professional attire, career development tools, and a network of support to help women succeed in work and in life. Over the past 13 years, Dress for Success has grown into a thriving international not-for-profit organization that has supported more than 550,000 disadvantaged women at over 110 affiliates worldwide.
