To offer people with disabilities the opportunity to influence and shape policy at all levels, enjoy equality and full participation, make informed choices on issues, enjoy dignity and respect as a person, and live as they choose with the appropriate supports.

DPA (New Zealand) is an umbrella organisation representing people with disabilities, the organisations involved in advocacy on their behalf, and service providers. DPA has a network of regional assemblies who advocate on local issues. As a national assembly encompassing people with all types of disabilities — physical, sensory, intellectual, psychiatric, neurological and age related — DPA is the voice of people with disabilities in New Zealand.
