ADAP promote a community approach in the management and the conservation of the protected areas, fauna and flora. In order to contain the growing poverty and the ecosystems deterioration, ADAP supports the implementation of activities compatible with a durable exploitation of the natural resources. Its objective is to generate incomes for the local communities while preserving the environment. Our projects are primarily located in the Dominican Republic , mainly in the area of Dajabon. However, we are also involved in helping the Haitian community, and we are training people from other countries, so that they might spread these projects even further. The benefits of these LED lighting systems are an increased ability to read and do homework at night (ie. literacy and education) and an increased ability in the evening to clean, cook, sew, start cottage industries, diaper babies, and just simply interact with other community members. Health benefits include the reduced fire hazard, reduced smoke inhalation, etc. The beneficiaries of this project no longer need to use smoky, dangerous kerosene lamps or candles.
