Action Volunteers for Animals is just what its name suggests: an organization of people who are active on behalf of non-human animals, and who give their time and energy without monetary reward. AVA began in 1972 as a group of Toronto Humane Society workers who kept THS shelter animals alive during a strike of regular shelter staff. They decided to continue to work together after the strike ended, and to call themselves Action Volunteers For Animals. Our organization serves Toronto and the surrounding area and helps animals in two ways: through hands-on work and through the promotion of animal rights.

We have been working with poor and marginalised people in India since 1972. The Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty is named after the great English historian, Lord John Acton (1834-1902). He is best known for his famous remark: “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Inspired by his work on the relation between liberty and morality, the Acton Institute seeks to articulate a vision of society that is both free and virtuous, the end of which is human flourishing. To clarify this relationship, the Institute holds seminars and publishes various books, monographs, periodicals, and articles.

Actors and Others for Animals is a California 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to the promotion of the humane treatment of animals. Together with other vital services, we are there to help pet guardians living on a low and/or fixed income care for their beloved companions. The story of Actors and Others for Animals is also the story of compassionate people - donors, celebrities, supporters, volunteers, staff and board members - who helped take a fledgling organization and through hard work, dedication and loving kindness made it a dominating protector of animals.

The Actors' Fund is the national nonprofit human service organization founded on June 8, 1882 that provides for the welfare of all entertainment professionals. The Fund helps people in film, theater, television, music, opera, and dance. It assists performers and well as those who work behind the scenes.

ACTS is a small BC-registered Christian charitable organization based in Comox, B.C. Our staff and our volunteers—who have included engineers, nurses, artists, construction workers, teachers, businesspeople, environmental specialists, and other “regular people”—work with rural communities in East Africa to provide technical assistance and training in water supply, health education, environmental conservation, and humanitarian projects. Our projects are funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), corporate donors, churches and other organizations, and the donations of individuals. While most of our work is in Uganda, over the last decade we have also worked with communities in Tanzania, Rwanda, and Sudan.

Standards are being eroded and some have forgotten what it means to be professional. The public service focus of AFC programs and initiatives will reflect well on the image of individual actuaries, the actuarial profession, and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA).

ACTV is a unique African organisation that was created in June 1993 in Kampala, Uganda by African professionals drawn from different walks of life under the guidance of the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT). ACTV is accredited by the Ministry of Health to operate a medical referral centre that provides physical and psychological care that supports the process of rehabilitation of victims of torture by security agencies or by rebels in Uganda and neighbouring countries.

ADAIKALAM Trust is a non-governmental organization started in the year 2008 and registered under Indian trust act. It mainly focus in bringing sustainable development for the people in enriching their capacities and provides them opportunities to develop their life. It has been reached out more than 1000 beneficiaries in vocational training and taking various initiatives in building them as entrepreneurs. It works with a holistic approach by providing equal services for all people for their community and self-development. The women and child issues were taken immediate actions many youth who thought of lost their lives were developed as a strong entrepreneurs and many are self-employed. The rural communities are supported to develop their agricultural sector and make their cultivation more effective. All the activities of the organization are linked with each other and it works to bring a sustainable development in the community.
