Caritas Care is a long established Charity in the North West of England. Established in 1934, ten years after the birth of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lancaster, Caritas Care was originally a child care agency. After a major review of social care activities in the Diocese of Lancaster, the charity's governing document was amended in 1987 to establish a broader based range of services beyond child care.

Caritas Norway is the development and relief organisation of the Catholic Church. The primary objectives are to support programmes in poor countries within the areas of development co-operation, human rights, peace and reconciliation work and emergency relief; to motivate the Catholics in Norway towards developing solidarity with the economically poor in other countries, and to increase awareness of unjust social structures and the causes of poverty. Domestically, the most important role is to aid the parishes in the development of welfare work for refugees, immigrants, children and the elderly.

We are a fledgling Canadian charity whose mandate is to build and repair orphanages, schools and family homes for the poor and handicapped people of Cambodia. We are currently a small, three man operation possessing the right combination of skills, knowledge, local street-sense, and single minded determination to help the people of Cambodia. We want to improve living conditions through not only our building projects but also by teaching impoverished Cambodian youths the trades required to do it themselves.

The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University is the only nation-wide organization that brings together under one roof all the professional disciplines needed to study and combat abuse of all substances - alcohol, nicotine as well as illegal, prescription and performance enhancing drugs - in all sectors of society. Founded in 1992 by Former U.S. Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare Joseph A. Califano, Jr., the nonprofit organization aims to inform Americans of the economic and social costs of substance abuse and its impact on their lives, as well as, remove the stigma of substance abuse and replace shame and despair with hope. CASA has assembled an interdisciplinary staff of over 60 professionals with post-graduate and doctorate degrees, experience and expertise in many various fields.

CASA is a major community-based provider of mental health services for infants, children, adolescents and their families within the Capital Region and from Central and Northern Alberta. CASA provides assessment and treatment services for approximately 3000 infants, children and adolescents from birth to age 18 each year though a continuum ranging from consultation in community outreach settings to very intensive treatment programs.

Partnering with the greater San Diego community, we assure that children and their families receive unique and innovative services for healing, for stopping child mistreatment of any kind, and for ending generational cycles of abuse. The result is a community where child abuse and neglect are not tolerated, and where child abuse awareness and prevention are priorities.

National CASA and our network of over 1,050 local community program offices support volunteers serving children. The role of local CASA programs is to recruit, train and support volunteers in their work with abused children. National CASA offers critical leadership and support to provide quality advocacy and lead the continued growth of the CASA network. National CASA creates new, research-based training opportunities, such as our new e-learning series on educational advocacy, and continuously improves our core volunteer training curriculum. We offer extensive technical assistance to help programs serve more children more effectively. We coordinate national campaigns to help recruit CASA volunteers and raise awareness about child abuse. In recent years, the CASA cause has been featured in various media, reaching more than 155 million individuals. Much of this awareness is the result of National CASA being selected as a CBS Cares network charity.

CASE was started by Lane Benjamin, a Clinical Psychologist, who identified a need for trauma intervention due to a rising level of prevalent violence and a definite decline in relational values. To this day CASE is run by volunteers of all ages drawn from the community of Hanover Park and has become an effective catalyst for transformation. CASE strives to break the cycle of violence in communities inflicted by years of trauma. Various projects and techniques are implemented to transform the community through the development of community members, creating a positive cycle of healthy individuals, families and community.
