VoiceAbility

Founded by Craig Dearden-Phillips and James Fletcher in the mid 1990s, Speaking Up was built on the foundation of enabling people to develop a voice of their own and take greater control of their own life. VoiceAbility offer services across the advocacy and involvement spectrum. We work in many local authorities, offering statutory and informal advocacy, as well as nationwide for our consultancy, training and easyread services.

Voluntary Childaid

The organisation realises that volunteers also come to Ghana for their experience. Through the placement of the Ghanian hostfamilies the volunteers have the opportunity to learn the Ghanian culture. Vca focuses upon the improvement of education and rights of woman and children. The activites for the construction primarely focus upon improving the building and the facilities of existing schools in order to increase child education and decrease child poverty. Vca has during 2 years build 4 schools in cooperation with the NCDO, Wilde Ganzen en the Africa Schools Fund. These schools combined accomodate one thousand children. The organisation emphasizes the importance of including the local community during the process of development. During the process of the construction of schools volunteers are, together with members of the community and the construction workers, part of the team.

Voluntary Service Belfast

VSB is a well established development agency with 43 years of experience providing the infrastructure to support, encourage and promote citizenship and participation through voluntary activity. As the Volunteer Centre for Belfast, Castlereagh, North Down and Ards, VSB provides the support mechanisms to enable individuals to access voluntary opportunities, matching volunteers with voluntary placements, and maximising mutual benefits. VSB provides support each year for volunteers and over 600 organisations whose work involves volunteers. Support includes advice, information, training and good practice standards.

Volunteer Kenya

We are a grassroots volunteer organization that has been active since 1998. One unique feature of our organization is that we operate through a partnership between overseas volunteers and a staff of local Kenyans. All of our international coordination, fundraising, and marketing is done through a staff of unpaid volunteers from the US and Canada. Our on-the-ground operations are all run by local Kenyans who are trained in development, education, HIV/AIDS counseling and home-based care.

Vukukhanye

Vukukhanye is a registered South African' public benefit organisation, which was formed in 2002 in response to the serious threat to child and family welfare caused by the HIV/AIDS epidemic in South Africa, and particularly the province of KwaZulu-Natal. Vukukhanye's primary focus from 2001 to 2005 was the care of orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) in the Ethekwini region, primarily through the operation of a Children's Transition/Foster Home, and associated community-based OVC support. In 2005 Vukukhanye expanded its objectives to include a broader range of public benefit activities.

W.E.C.A.R.E.

The World of Entertainment Centered Around Rebuilding Education (W.E.C.A.R.E.) is a benevolent organization dedicated to working with teachers, students, and their communities throughout our nation and worldwide to reach their full potential by offsetting the budget cuts and fighting for poverty stricken school systems. Supporting us gives teachers the opportunities necessary for success by providing the best tools to reach students educational goals. We serve all public K-12th grade educators and students. W.E.C.A.R.E. knows that the only way a student can have an optimal path in life is with resources and a quality education.This helps to bring about an upturn in the community and the economy by innovative thinking. A top priority at W.E.C.A.R.E. is to actively campaign for educational reform in our communities by establishing well-organized resources to provide funding to teachers so they will have the operational expenses to provide a quality education for students.

Wadsworth Atheneum

The Wadsworth Atheneum was founded to share the wonders of art with the public. In the mid-nineteenth century, average citizens had little if no exposure to fine art, antiquities, or beautiful objects. Only the very wealthy purchased paintings or decorative arts, and then only for their own enjoyment. The Wadsworth has a rich tradition of firsts, leading the way in art collecting and embracing new art movements. It was the first American museum to acquire works by Caravaggio, Frederic Church, Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró, Piet Mondrian, Balthus, Joseph Cornell, and many others. Today our Hudson River School landscapes, Old Master paintings, modernist masterpieces, Meissen and Sevres porcelains, early American furniture and decorative arts, and MATRIX contemporary art shows are world-renowned.

Walk Auckland

We ensure everyone has the right to walk as the basic means of human movement, without restriction and fear and expect that councils and other organisations that have responsibility to pedestrians to have clear development and maintenance standards for footpaths and walkways and apply them. We have involvements with councils and organisations that have responsibility to pedestrians in an advocacy role, to ensure that priority projects are identified in national and local planning and to set up a 'reporting' process for problems.

Walker Art Center

Formally established in 1927, the Walker Art Center began as the first public art gallery in the Upper Midwest. The museum's focus on modern art began in the 1940s, when a gift from Mrs. Gilbert Walker made possible the acquisition of works by important artists of the day, including sculptures by Pablo Picasso, Henry Moore, Alberto Giacometti, and others. During the 1960s, the Walker organized increasingly ambitious exhibitions that circulated to museums in the United States and abroad. The permanent collection expanded to reflect crucial examples of contemporary artistic developments; concurrently, performing arts, film, and education programs grew proportionately and gained their own national prominence throughout the next three decades. Today, the Walker is recognized internationally as a singular model of a multidisciplinary arts organization and as a national leader for its innovative approaches to audience engagement.

Walking with Maasai

Walking with Maasai is a non-profit organisation established by and for the Maasai communities in the Olorte region of southern Kenya. As our name implies, we’re about creating a sustainable partnership between various parties around the world and the Maasai with the aim of initiating community-based projects that equip, educate and empower the local people. We seek to run all of our activities in an environmentally and culturally sensitive way, promoting the conservation and wise use of natural resources.

Wanicare Foundation

The Wanicare foundation supports Wild Animal Rescue Centers for the well-being of wild animals, with primates in particular. The Wanicare Foundation is founded in 2009 and initially focused on supporting the Wildlife Rescue Center PPSC in Cikananga, West Java, Indonesia. Wanicare has achieved much in recent years and prepares for growth and development in the comping years. This foundation is a non-governmental and non-profit organization and runs entirely on volunteers and donations. Wani is an abbreviation of the word wanita which means girl in Bahasa Indonesian. Wani can also be translated as Willemijn ANImal Care. Willemijn Eggen (veterinary assistant) is the dedicated person behind the foundation. Since she was 10 years old she dreamed about working with orang-utans in Indonesia. To help diseased animals means the world to her. She loves working with primates and above all, she is very passionate about orang-utans. The purpose of Wanicare is to prevent wild animal trade and to release animals back into their natural habitat.

War Child Ireland

War Child Ireland was established in 2003 and is part of the War Child International Organisation. At least 2 million children have been killed around the world in the last 10 years as a direct result of war and armed conflict. War Child Ireland is a child protection agency working with the most marginalised children in some of the worst conflict and post conflict emergencies. War Child’s work makes a fundamental difference to thousands of children whose future is otherwise bleak beyond description.

War Child UK

We are an international charity that protects children living in the world's most dangerous war zones. We currently work in Iraq, Afghanistan, Uganda and D.R. Congo. We look forward to a world in which the lives of children are no longer torn apart by war. War Child has been working with children affected by war for almost 15 years. Our focus is on the children who are most severely marginalised by the overlapping forces of conflict, poverty and social exclusion - children living and working on the streets, child soldiers and children in prison. We work where we believe the need is greatest and where our experience and skills will be of most value.

War Kids Relief

War Kids Relief, a program of the nonprofit Children’s Culture Connection, is a nonpolitical peace-building organization that creates facilities, programs and expertise enabling children traumatically affected by war to realize new possibilities for their lives. The War Kids Relief team is passionate about addressing the needs of children traumatically affected by war, and our directors each bring a uniquely personal perspective and skill set to enhance the projects we develop.
