Pilgrim provides spiritual, material, social and economic support through integrated multi-sectored interventions, demonstrating the hope and love found in Christ Jesus that generates wholeness, creativity and dignity. We'd like to encourage and enhance Christian charity and work in needy and hopeless regions, thus bringing more abundant life. We seek to promote individual friendships and cultural exchange between Americans and Africans through a variety of programs and tools, including micro-charitable investments into programs such as schools, farms, hospitals and education campaigns and to promote spiritual unity through these relationships.

PILLARS Inc, is an innovative long term, prevention programme serving children with a parent in prison. Established in 1988, services are delivered by professional social workers and volunteer mentors utilizing the natural and professional networks already available to the child, their parents and their family / whanau through a family wraparound which encompasses one on one social work support, children of prisoners mentoring, and strengthening families meetings. PILLARS has been a national leader in such work for over two decades, through supporting families to make positive change and remain and live crime free. The mentoring programme is one of the earliest programmes introduced in New Zealand.

In 1936, Pine Tree Society was established as a statewide organization to meet the needs of Maine people with disabilities. That commitment continues every day throughout the state of Maine. Whether it’s a young girl with Cerebral Palsy discovering her first best friend at Pine Tree Camp, an adult finding his voice with customized assistive technology or an adult with a developmental disability participating in a new and exciting activities at Community Services…Pine Tree Society changes lives.

The Pink Ribbon Foundation is a grant making trust with a mission to fund projects and provide financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people who are suffering from, or who have been affected by breast cancer or who work to advance the understanding of breast cancer, its early detection and treatment. The Foundation is impartial and is committed to bringing together individuals, charities and organisations to fight this terrible disease together. Every year the Foundation invites charities concerned with breast cancer to apply for grants from the money raised. Operating in this way allows the Foundation to help charities both large and small – many of the small organisations rely on donations such as these to keep them going. We intend to continue to do this.

PIPAR (People's Institute for Participatory Action Research) programs and activities are driven by the philosophy that people are the final arbiters of their own development; therefore the process of development should be based on common awareness, analysis, mobilization and action of the people. The organisation firmly believes that any development program would be effective & successful to the extent it would raise people's capacity to participate in the process for self-reliance & growth.

Begun in 1939 as the Pittsburgh Opera Society, Pittsburgh Opera is the eighth oldest company in the United States and draws on a rich legacy of music-making. Among the many luminaries who have sung at Pittsburgh Opera are Luciano Pavarotti, Beverly Sills, Joan Sutherland, Sherrill Milnes, and Stephanie Blythe. The company’s first conductor, Richard Karp of Vienna, led Pittsburgh Opera for nearly 40 years and oversaw the company’s move to Heinz Hall in 1971. In 2008, Christopher Hahn was unanimously appointed General Director and has vigorously upheld Pittsburgh Opera’s high standards of management and artistic excellence, while spearheading the move to Pittsburgh Opera’s new headquarters in the historic George Westinghouse Air Brake Factory in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. The new facility has provided Pittsburgh Opera with the space to house the resources needed to better prepare for performances at the Benedum, while opening up a whole new way for the community to experience all the artistry that is part of opera.

For more than 100 years, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra has been an essential part of Pittsburgh’s cultural landscape. The PSO, known for its artistic excellence, is credited with a rich history of the world’s finest conductors and musicians, and a strong commitment to the Pittsburgh region and its citizens. This tradition was furthered in fall 2008, when Austrian conductor Manfred Honeck assumed the position of Music Director with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

Committed to education, research, and wildlife conservation, the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is actively involved in 23 Species Survival Plans and proudly exhibits 22 threatened or endangered species. The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is one of only six major zoo and aquarium combinations in the country.

Since 1982, the PKD Foundation has been building to this moment - this pivotal tipping point - when treatments for PKD are truly, finally, within reach. The PKD Foundation has come a long way since its first year funding research - one grant for only $25,000. In 2009, the PKD Foundation funded 32 projects in five countries for a total of nearly $2 million. Today, the PKD Foundation is the only organization worldwide dedicated to fighting PKD through research, education, advocacy, support and awareness. Our goal is simple - to discover and deliver treatments and a cure for PKD.

Plan was founded in 1937 by British journalist John Langdon-Davies and refugee worker Eric Muggeridge. Originally named 'Foster Parents Plan for Children in Spain', the aim was to provide food, accommodation and education to children whose lives had been disrupted by the Spanish Civil War. During the Second World War, we expanded to work with displaced children throughout war-torn Europe. Today, Plan works in 49 developing countries and is one of the world's largest development organizations. Child sponsorship is the foundation of our organization. We have about one million sponsors in 17 donor countries helping over one million children all over the world, together with their families and communities.

We are a trusted health care provider, an informed educator, a passionate advocate, and a global partner helping similar organizations around the world. Planned Parenthood delivers vital health care services, sex education, and sexual health information to millions of women, men, and young people. For more than 90 years, Planned Parenthood has promoted a commonsense approach to women's health and well-being, based on respect for each individual's right to make informed, independent decisions about sex, health, and family planning.

Founded in 1972, the PCL Foundation provides research that serves as a catalyst for public policy change to solve critical environmental problems. PCLF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization working to protect the environmental and quality of life for all Californians. Since our inception, the Foundation and its staff have researched and provided necessary policy analysis for some of California's best and much needed environmental legislation and bonds. PCLF also works at the community level to provide the public with skills needed to participate in the environmental review process and to cut the carbon footprint of new developments in their communities.

Plant a Tree Today (PATT) Foundation works to raise awareness of global environmental issues, campaign for better environmental practices and take action against deforestation and climate change by planting trees. Our work is primarily focused on the restoration of native forests. We implement reforestation projects for both biodiversity reasons and also as a means to sequester atmospheric C02. In addition to this, PATT Foundation also has an active and innovative education program. PATT helps students develop their environmental stewardship through our EcoKids Camp, Family Tree Planting days, School Tree Planting days, and setting up tree nurseries in the classroom.

The National Council For The Conservation Of Plants And Gardens was founded as a registered charity in 1978 to combine the talents of botanists, horticulturalists and conservationists with the dedication of keen amateur and professional gardeners. Plant Heritage's aims are to: encourage the propagation and conservation of cultivated plants in the British Isles; encourage and conduct research into cultivated plants, their origins, their historical and cultural importance and their environments; and encourage the education of the public in cultivated plant conservation. Through its membership and the National Collection Holders, the NCCPG seeks to rediscover and reintroduce cultivated plants by encouraging their propagation and distribution so that they are grown as widely as possible. The NCCPG works closely with other conservation bodies as well as botanic gardens, The National Trust, The National Trust for Scotland, English Heritage, The Royal Horticultural Society and many specialist horticultural societies.

Floresta USA and its Dominican sister organization, Floresta Incorporada were founded in 1984, out of a new vision for economic development that would be sustainable and benefit the environment. Floresta sought to make lasting change through development that restored productivity to degraded land and dignity to the rural poor, while providing opportunities for upcoming generations. One of the things that makes Floresta special is that we don’t just focus on treating the symptoms of environmental degradation and poverty, we work to solve the root causes.

Plantation Dog Rescue opened in York, in January 2005. It began with a small number of dogs but rapidly increased to up to 20 dogs at any one time. There are so many stray dogs all over the country, but particularly in the North, and not enough funding or rescue centres to help them all. We pick up dogs from the council run kennels that are due to be put to sleep. All strays must serve their legal seven days in the stray kennels to give their owner a chance to claim them. If their owner doesn't come forward and the kennels are full, (which they usually are in the North) the dogs that have served their seven days will be put to sleep to make room for the new ones coming in each day. We go to the stray and kennels and pick up the dogs that are on death row. We get them all the veterinary treatment that they need, including vaccinations, neutering, flea and worming treatments. We also microchip all the dogs. We assess them, do some training with them and then find them new homes.
