American Foundation for Children with AIDS

The American Friends of ALYN Hospital (AFAH) is the exclusive awareness raising and fundraising organization in the United States for ALYN Hospital, Israel's premiere comprehensive rehabilitation center for physically challenged and disabled children, adolescents and young adults. ALYN, located in Jerusalem, provides all of the necessary rehabilitation services (medical, para-medical and educational) under one roof and treats children regardless of religious belief, nationality or ethnic background.As a private nonprofit hospital, ALYN receives no automatic government funding and for every dollar spent on care there is a shortfall of at least 30¢ which grows to a minimum of $3,000,000 every year. This shortfall is funded through the generosity of individuals, federations and foundations. The American Friends of ALYN Hospital is a fully registered 501 (c) (3) with US Tax ID 13-6100833 and donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

American Friends of Neve Shalom/Wahat Al-Salam

Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam (the "Oasis of Peace" in Hebrew and Arabic) is the only community in Israel where Jews ans Palestinians choose to live, work and raise their children in equality and mutual respect. The village started with a handful of individuals in the 1970s and is now home to 60 families - half Jewish, half Palestinian. More than 300 families are on a waiting-list, hoping to join the community in the near future. In the United States, the American Friends of Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam was created in the 1980s to provide support to the Oasis of Peace and awareness to the American public.

Tzohar's programs are the light to these children and their families, creating hope and encouragement for all of our futures. There is a desperate need in Israel for Special Schools for exceptional children. According to the published statistics of the Ministry of Welfare and Social Security Administration, over 1,000 disabled and educationally challenged youngsters are at home nationwide for lack of an appropriate framework, with the number increasing every year. In biblical times, when G-d commanded Noah to build an ark to protect his family and animals, he was instructed to add as special window to provide light for those inside. This window, "Tzohar" in Hebrew, was a means of maintaining contact with the outside world, while protecting those within. Like its biblical reference, Tzohar is a window to the world, providing shelter and quality of life for special needs children.

The Himalaya, roof of the world, is a magic place, but where people often live without basic health care and education. Economic pressures have forced environmental degradation. And traditional ways of life are in danger of disappearing. The American Himalayan Foundation was founded thirty years ago to respond to some of these pressing problems. What we do is very basic: build schools, plant trees, train doctors, fund hospitals, take care of children and elderly, and restore sacred sites throughout the Himalayas. We also assist and encourage Tibetans to rebuild and maintain their culture both in exile, and within Tibet.

American India Foundation

AIF mobilizes resources in the United States and India and invests these to improve education, livelihoods and public health for the marginalized in India. It has implemented programs through over 115 Indian non-governmental organizations since its inception in 2001. We improve the economic wellbeing of marginalized workers by increasing livelihood options, access to capital and income security. We also improve the health and survival of women and children through expanding health services and increasing health literacy.
