Friends Of Colombia For Social Aid
Health/Medical
We are constantly receiving many requests for help from children's hospitals and institutions which are very poor and cannot cope with the demand of services due to lack of government funds. Here is where FOSCA is doing its utmost to help and though in a small degree we are sending medical equipment to aliviate those needs. We consider requests for assistance from public hospitals with the help of medical consultants; we establish priorities according to the need for equipment and the inability of the hospitals to acquire the equipment from their own resources. We also establish follow-up mechanisms to ensure the equipment we provide is being properly used.
Friends of Conservation - FOC
Environment
FOC was founded in 1982 to help prevent wildlife and habitat degredation in the Masai Mara - one of the most ecologically important regions of the world. Over the last 25 years we have become an organisation with a reputation as one of East Africa's leading conservation bodies and work alongside some of the most progressive minds in this arena. At the beginning of the 1990s our activities expanded to cover projects around the world and we also included in our focus not only the wildlife, but also the local communities whose lives are inextricably entwined with the wildlife and habitats we are working to protect. Friends of Conservation is a conservation charity that works with local communities across the world to protect their surrounding wildlife and habitats. At present we work with local partners in the Caribbean, India, Iran, Namibia, Peru, Tanzania, Uganda as well as supporting our own field station and programme in the Masai Mara, Kenya.

Friends of India
Community/Family
A non-profit, charitable organisation, Friends of India was founded in 2001 by its current President Pamela Walsh, OBE. Friends of India is entirely dependent on voluntary donations. We value the right to education for all and believe learning and access to opportunity can substantially improve the lives of those we serve, who come from some of the poorest communities in Tamil Nadu, India. Guided by the needs and hopes of these communities, we work closely with local partners to best serve our clients. We share the results of our work with our supporters whom we value as meaningful partners. We demand the highest ethical behaviour of our members, board, staff, partners and beneficiaries. We honour the dignity of our beneficiaries, recognize the contributions of our partners, and uphold respect for local Indian values in our work. Despite India’s rapid growth, many Indians are trapped in poverty with little access to education or opportunity. While many have gained access to basic education, only 65% of Indians are literate, drop-out rates are high and links to jobs remain a challenge. We work closely with local partners in impoverished communities in the state of Tamil Nadu. We fight poverty and create opportunities for children and women by supporting basic education for underserved children and investing in vocational training, life-skills development and income generation for women.

Friends of ROSHNI UK
Disability
ROSHNI was established in 1998 to provide much needed educational and therapy services to children and young adults with cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, autism and other forms of neurological disability. It is based in Gwalior, a small city in northern India. Before ROSHNI was opened, people had to travel 5 hours to Delhi to receive similar services. Many were unable to afford this option. ROSHNI serves over 1000 people with disabilities, from Gwalior and many surrounding towns and villages who do not have any services in their own area. Many of the beneficiaries live in extreme poverty. ROSHNI provides services in their centre, in local schools, outreach centres, and visits the villages from time to time to offer services to those unable to reach Gwalior. ROSHNI also run regular training programmes, for parents and families, community workers, mainstream school teachers, and medical professionals. They place a lot of emphasis on raising the awareness of disability rights and issues, for example with local politicians, doctors, and employers. "Friends of ROSHNI UK" is a registered charity which supports the work of ROSHNI in India, through raising funds and sending skilled volunteers.
Friends Of The Animals
Animals/Wildlife
The Charity began in March 1990. We work on the principle of making prompt and immediate decisions for the benefit of the animals that rely upon and need us. The Charity is managed by a dedicated team of five volunteers but they, the Trustees, delegate day to day decisions to a team of people that are empowered to make life saving and positive decisions for the animals. We ACT, we don't chat. We believe VERY strongly in "prevention rather than cure" and to that end a very large amount of our time and resources goes into supporting and funding subsidised spaying and neutering - not just for cats and dogs but rabbits and ferrets etc.
Friends of the Care Project
Children/Education
Friends of the Care Project is an independent Non-Profit Organistation that was founded in order to help improve the facilities at The Care Project and provide specialist therapy for its residents. Our Patron is Her Excellency Lady Williams, wife of The Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda. Through fundraising efforts and raising awareness of this group of individuals we have been able to enhance their daily lives. Friends of the Care Project have funded specialist sensory teaching and physiotherapy sessions. These are on an individual and group basis. These services, taken for granted in most countries have had a tremendous impact on the children's lives with some children beginning to speak and communicate for the first time in their lives! Friends of the Care Project also arrange day trips for the residents. Until very recently these children had never been to the beach, swam in the sea or even been to a supermarket!
