To provide permanent accommodation for the homeless.

In 1990, Alexander Gravenstein, holding the "Honorary Liberty of the Old Kent Road in Camberwell", established with nil assets the charity Brick by Brick LHAG which provides permanent accommodation for the homeless. The Charity also gives to homeless and unemployed people the opportunity to help build and renovate buildings, thereby learning a skill under the supervision of qualified tradesmen, in order to provide themselves and others with decent homes so that they can lead independent, self-sufficient lives. The policy of the Charity is not political, religious or prejudiced.
