Community Food Bank of New Jersey

Today, the FoodBank distributes over 23 million pounds of food and groceries a year, ultimately serving 1,656 non-profit programs including 436 programs served by its Partner Distribution Organizations (PDOs). Through their combined efforts, they assist three-quarters of a million low-income people in 18 of New Jersey’s 21 counties. A designated 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Community Foodbank of New Jersey is a member of Feeding America, the nation’s largest network of food banks, as well as a member of the New Jersey Federation of food banks.

Community Food Share is Boulder and Broomfield Counties' food bank. CFS was founded in 1981, with a goal of redistributing food that would otherwise go to waste to families in need. We have grown exponentially since the beginning, rising to meet the demand for assistance in our community. We operate a warehouse where we store donated food, and prepare orders for delivery to local agencies. Our Feeding Families program also provides free food to families in poverty with children in school.

Community Mental Health and Psychiatry (CMHP), manages various Mental Health related homes for individuals with a psychiatric diagnosis. Our focus is mainly based on Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) principals and models. Our Services currently include housing facilities for more than 300 clients and daily support services to many. More than 80 employees assist with the day to day running of the facilities. We have three registered nursing sisters that work at the Community Mental Health Clinic located on the old Stikland Hospital grounds. We also train caregivers in a one year course accredited by SETA.

Compassion in World Farming -Ireland started in 1992. It is part of the international Compassion in World Farming organisation, which was founded in England and now works to achieve better animal welfare standards in the EU and globally. Compassion hosts a European Coalition For Farm Animals, in which animal welfare groups from the EU (including Compassion-Ireland) work together to improve EU farm animal welfare standards. Compassion-Ireland is represented on the Irish Government's Farm Animal Welfare Advisory Council. This was established in 2002 as a response to growing public interest in high farm animal welfare standards in Ireland. Compassion's views about farm animal welfare are based on scientific evaluation of animal welfare. Compassion produces excellent reports on farm animal welfare issues.

Computers for Schools Kenya (CFSK) is a non-governmental organisation that was formally registered in October 2002. In the seven years that we have been in existence, CFSK has sourced over 18,000 personal computers that we have deployed in over 600 public secondary and primary schools, technical training institutes, teacher training colleges, medical training centres and several universities. We successfully developed digital multimedia teaching/learning resources specifically intended for our national secondary school curriculum which has since been up-scaled by the Kenya Institute of Education – providing both teachers and students with an invaluable modern tool that makes learning fun and stimulating.
