Community Food Bank of New Jersey

Today, the FoodBank distributes over 23 million pounds of food and groceries a year, ultimately serving 1,656 non-profit programs including 436 programs served by its Partner Distribution Organizations (PDOs). Through their combined efforts, they assist three-quarters of a million low-income people in 18 of New Jersey’s 21 counties. A designated 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Community Foodbank of New Jersey is a member of Feeding America, the nation’s largest network of food banks, as well as a member of the New Jersey Federation of food banks.

Community Food Share

Community Food Share is Boulder and Broomfield Counties' food bank. CFS was founded in 1981, with a goal of redistributing food that would otherwise go to waste to families in need. We have grown exponentially since the beginning, rising to meet the demand for assistance in our community. We operate a warehouse where we store donated food, and prepare orders for delivery to local agencies. Our Feeding Families program also provides free food to families in poverty with children in school.

Community Foundation Alliance Of Calhoun County

The Community Foundation Alliance of Calhoun County provides a countywide platform for philanthropy. Established in 1998 and formerly known as the Supporting Organization of Calhoun County, we are an organization serving the interests of area residents and donors. We serve as a repository of funds and a grantmaking organization for projects that have a countywide focus. We have a special interest in youth programming, since our first funding came from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation to conduct an initiative promoting youth service and volunteerism in support of community problem solving.

Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan

The Community Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization governed by a board of 55 volunteer civic leaders. Of the more than 670 community foundations nationwide, the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan is among the top 30 in assets. Since 1984, we have been serving as a vehicle for donors, volunteers and community members to identify important issues, share ideas and build the financial resources to make positive long-term change. We are building permanent community capital in the form of endowments that create a base of stable financial support for the region.

Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee

The first community foundation began in Cleveland in 1914. It was soon followed by others in Boston, Chicago, and New York City. Now more than 650 community foundations are in major population centers in the United States. More than $31 billion in charitable assets are managed in this way. In 2002, more than $1.6 billion in grants emanated from community foundations and gifts exceeded $3.5 billion. Community foundations are designed to accommodate the special concerns of each donor. The donor, through a gift or bequest, establishes a permanent, named fund within The Foundation's endowment.

Community Mental Health and Psychiatry

Community Mental Health and Psychiatry (CMHP), manages various Mental Health related homes for individuals with a psychiatric diagnosis. Our focus is mainly based on Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) principals and models. Our Services currently include housing facilities for more than 300 clients and daily support services to many. More than 80 employees assist with the day to day running of the facilities. We have three registered nursing sisters that work at the Community Mental Health Clinic located on the old Stikland Hospital grounds. We also train caregivers in a one year course accredited by SETA.

Community Outreach Programme

CORP provides access to fundamental social services such as education, health care, nutrition and vocational training, enabling communities to pull themselves out of poverty and become self-reliant, independent and socially responsible. We encourage, train and enable local people to assume community responsibilities, while encouraging all segments of society, irrespective of caste, creed, religion or economic situation, to cooperate on long-term developments.

Community Service Society of New York

The Community Service Society (CSS) is a leading, independent, nonprofit organization that provides innovative solutions to the most urgent problems facing low-income New Yorkers. For more than 160 years, we have worked to strengthen community life by conducting research, policy analysis, advocacy, and service initiatives. We speak for the more than 3 million New Yorkers living at or near the poverty line. Our legacy includes establishing the prototype for the free school lunch program, serving as the catalyst behind the city's first tenement housing laws, aiding victims of the Titanic maritime disaster and World Trade Center employees impacted by the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, creating the nation's largest senior volunteer program and the curriculum that spawned the Columbia University School of Social Work.

Compassion & Choices promotes informed end-of-life decision making by educating the public and advising health care professionals. Compassion & Choices devotes itself to creative legal and legislative initiatives to secure comprehensive and compassionate options at the end of life. We set national standards for end-of-life care and assert constitutional protection for aid in dying.

Compassion Australia

Compassion is an international Christian child development and child advocacy ministry committed to working in partnership with local churches to foster the spiritual, economic, social, physical and emotional development of children living in extreme poverty in over 25 developing countries. Compassion’s ministry to children is distinctly Christian. Our child development programs are unique in that they are: Christ-centred, child-focused and church-based. We provide resources, training and expertise to assist in the operation of holistic child development programs. Local churches are empowered to develop Compassion’s programs towards meeting the specific and individual needs of the poorest of the poor children within their local communities.

Compassion Direct UK is a UK registered charity - 1113505, supporting children and families living in the streets, schools, shanty towns and mountains of South America. We work with community groups and organisations requiring external funding and support. Where necessary CDUK create and support new initiatives to help family members aquire the skills necessary for independent living. CDUK believe we live in an interdependent world where universal education and social justice will benefit us all.

Compassion in World Farming

Compassion in World Farming was founded over 40 years ago in 1967 by a British farmer who became horrified by the development of modern, intensive factory farming. Today we campaign peacefully to end all cruel factory farming practices. We believe that the biggest cause of cruelty on the planet deserves a focused, specialised approach - so we only work on farm animal welfare.

Compassion in World Farming

Compassion in World Farming -Ireland started in 1992. It is part of the international Compassion in World Farming organisation, which was founded in England and now works to achieve better animal welfare standards in the EU and globally. Compassion hosts a European Coalition For Farm Animals, in which animal welfare groups from the EU (including Compassion-Ireland) work together to improve EU farm animal welfare standards. Compassion-Ireland is represented on the Irish Government's Farm Animal Welfare Advisory Council. This was established in 2002 as a response to growing public interest in high farm animal welfare standards in Ireland. Compassion's views about farm animal welfare are based on scientific evaluation of animal welfare. Compassion produces excellent reports on farm animal welfare issues.

Compassion International

Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. Founded by the Rev. Everett Swanson in 1952, Compassion began providing Korean War orphans with food, shelter, education and health care, as well as Christian training. Today, Compassion helps more than 1 million children in 25 countries.

Compton Hospice

Compton Hospice has been providing the best in palliative care to patients facing a life-limiting illness, and their families, for more than a quarter-of-a-century. Our purpose is to make a difference to people’s lives when their illness is no longer curable, adding life to years rather than years to life. We do this by treating the people, not just their conditions, through our in- patient and community care facilities, medical and holistic treatments and support services.

Computer Aid International is a UK registered charity that aims to reduce poverty through practical ICT solutions. Computer Aid provides only the highest quality, professionally refurbished computers for reuse in education, health, agriculture and not-for-profit organisations in developing countries. At Computer Aid's London workshop we data-wipe, test and professionally refurbish donated computers, monitors and laptops from UK organisations and individuals. Computers For Development

Computers FOR Development was founded in 2004. Bridging the gap between the rich and the poor in a practical way is the central aim of FOR. The organization started its operations by creating better opportunities for students in Kenya and Ghana by sending used computers (donated by Dutch companies). The work of the foundation has now expanded to brokering, skills development and business development.

Computers for Schools Kenya (CFSK)

Computers for Schools Kenya (CFSK) is a non-governmental organisation that was formally registered in October 2002. In the seven years that we have been in existence, CFSK has sourced over 18,000 personal computers that we have deployed in over 600 public secondary and primary schools, technical training institutes, teacher training colleges, medical training centres and several universities. We successfully developed digital multimedia teaching/learning resources specifically intended for our national secondary school curriculum which has since been up-scaled by the Kenya Institute of Education – providing both teachers and students with an invaluable modern tool that makes learning fun and stimulating.
