The Cato Institute was founded in 1977 by Edward H. Crane. It is a non-profit public policy research foundation headquartered in Washington, D.C. The Institute is named for Cato's Letters, a series of libertarian pamphlets that helped lay the philosophical foundation for the American Revolution. The Cato Institute is one of the nation's leading public policy research foundations.
Cats in the Cradle

Cats in the Cradle, Inc. (CITC) is the culmination of over six years of rescue work aimed specifically at saving the lives of cats and kittens and finding permanent homes for them. To date, CITC has been able to make a difference in the lives of over 5,000 cats and kittens and has been actively involved in efforts aimed at achieving zero population growth by spaying and neutering all cats and kittens before adoption. CITC and its foster homes routinely house and care for 150 cats and kittens at any given time. While our kitties are waiting to go to loving and permanent homes ,we provide daily medical care, nutritious food, comfortable beds, clean litter and a safe and loving environment.
CAVE

CAVE is an acronym for Communities Advancing Valued Environments. CAVE was formed in 2004 after recognizing the need for community building in the Greater Toronto Area. CAVE has established itself in the GTA as an organization that strives to transform communities through various initiatives, primarily Mural Transformation Projects. Under the umbrella of CAVE is the Canadian Student Institute (CSI), an organization formed by Humber College Students that focuses on community building through their network of volunteer placements (www.csicommunity.com). CAVE also works directly with the Laser Eagles,an organization that offers everyone the opportunity for self expression and participation, through the relation of art. Judith Snow, a world leader on inclusiveness issues for people with disabilities, and Franziska Trauttsmandorff initiated this project in Toronto (www.lasereagles.org). Both the Canadian Student Institute and The Laser Eagles are under the CAVE umbrella.

Cawthron provides research based solutions to enable the sustainable management and development of New Zealand's coastal and freshwater systems and resources for the benefit of the region and the nation. It is New Zealand's largest, independent, community-owned research centre, with over 180 scientific and technical staff based in Nelson and Marlborough. We undertake research and development at its aquaculture facility; and focus on wealth creation through aquaculture with a strong focus on shellfish. We are recognised as a New Zealand and world leader in the protection and restoration of coastal and freshwater ecosystems. We also provide practical science and technology solutions to enable the sustainable management and development of New Zealand's natural resources.

CBM has over 1000 projects in 114 countries. Irish Aid has been funding CBM projects around the world for the past 3 years. Continuing and expanding its support each year, the influence has been strong enough to make a big difference to the lives of millions.

CBM has Member Associations raising funds and awareness of disability issues in nine countries worldwide. CBM strives to remove the barriers that marginalise people with disabilities in the most disadvantaged societies in the world. It does this by influencing policy at all levels and by responding to emergencies and natural disasters.

The history of cbm goes back to 1908, when the organisation was founded by the German Pastor Ernst Jakob Christoffel. Since then, cbm supports over 1000 projects in more than 100 countries. Today, cbm's fields of work cover not only the prevention and cure of blindness, but also the education and rehabilitation of people with physical, mental, or intellectual disabilities. cbm implements its programmes through local partners. The financial resources, know-how, and staff-support provided by cbm enable partners in developing countries to gradually become independent of foreign aid.

CCFD was founded in 1961 by movements and services of the Church in order to mobilise Christians in the fight against hunger. Today, CCFD is an association comprising 28 movements and services of the Catholic Church. It has a permanent staff of 170 based in Paris and in various regions of France who work to fulfill CCFD objectives. CCFD also boasts a network of 15,000 volunteers spread across 99 diocesan committees and 1500 local teams. The Conference of Catholic bishops of France has confided CCFD with the mission of mobilising Christian solidarity, particularly during the Lenten period, in order to promote solidarity between peoples by acting for development.

CCH leads strategic campaigns, community outreach, and public policy initiatives that target the lack of affordable housing in metropolitan Chicago and Illinois. CCH also presses for access to jobs, training, and public schools. Our policy specialists, public interest attorneys, and community organizers work with people hurt by homelessness - mothers with children, unaccompanied youth, ex-offenders, prostitution survivors, and low-wage workers. We are the only Illinois non-profit dedicated to advocating public policies that can curb – and one day, end – homelessness. CCH works to preserve the shelter safety net, to secure more affordable housing and rents, boost access to transitional jobs, support services, and schools, and create re-entry options and alternatives to incarceration.

Our programs are as diverse as the expansive role of CDC in the global public health arena.

It is a non-governmental organization independent of political and religious affiliation. cfd is oriented toward a vision of a good life for every human being, regardless of sex, ethnic background, and religion. Its approach is based on a broad understanding of peace. cfd lobbies for equal rights and opportunities for access to resources and public space and to participation in society and politics.

Active for more than 25 years in Africa, CEAS aims at sharing its expertise in sustainable development in order to improve the living conditions of disadvantaged communities in Burkina Faso, Senegal and Madagascar. Hands in hands with local partners, we invent and share innovations that help them build their own future while protecting the environment. Through consultancy, we also offer our services to other organisations that would share our vision. It thus allows us to reach as many beneficiaries as possible throughout the so called "third world countries".

Since our founding in 1958, CECI has become a bona fide incubator of international cooperation in Quebec and Canada. As a pioneer of Canadian cooperation, CECI has broken new ground in many areas. For example, CECI laid the first foundations for international cooperation in Quebec, integrated human rights concerns into the bilateral programs of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), and instituted such important programs as Women’s Rights and Citizenship in West Africa, Leave for Change, and Uniterra – Canada’s biggest international volunteer program. Known for their commitment and professionalism, the people of CECI serve with a growing number of Canadian and overseas development organizations. Our achievements over 50 years of CECI’s history offer a glimpse of what we have to offer in response to the challenges ahead.

HIV and AIDS in Africa are destroying families. School for orphans is often out of reach. We've teamed up with local organisations to keep our promise that we will support the education of orphans and vulnerable children right to the end of their school careers. We work closely with Zambian partner organisations, Hodi, CHEP and Bwafwano to enable more than 9,500 children who have been orphaned or made vulnerable because of AIDS to go to primary and secondary school, with the same uniforms and equipment as other children, so they are not stigmatised by their situation.
CECOWOR

CECOWOR is a not for profit, apolitical organization registered under the Society Registration Act 1992. (Reg.No 58/92) It is also registered under the FCRA division of Ministry of Home affairs. Its services are for everyone, irrespective of gender, creed, caste, class or ethnicity. Our founder, Mr M. Susairaj, is from a poor remote village in Tamil Nadu but managed to get a university education. He wanted to help others from his own community and in 1990 he set up CECOWOR with a group of educated and socially concerned individuals; they worked in the villages using informal education. In 1992 it was registered as an organization and since then has extended its activities to include human rights advocacy, skills training and economic development. Mr. Susairaj has completed a thesis on The role of voluntary organizations in eliciting people's participation and has worked as a project consultant at the India Social Institute in New Delhi, assessing NGOs in Tamil Nadu.

Over thirty programs and services are offered in the areas of child and family development, health and nutrition services, senior citizen programs, economic development, employment and job training, housing services, education services and community development.
Celebrity Foundation for Children

Celebrity Ranch is operated by the Celebrity Foundation for Children. A real working ranch in the beautiful wine country of Temecula, California, dedicated to the protection and development of the health, welfare and education of children. Through its support groups and fund raisers Celebrity Ranch will invite and entertain foster families, children's charities and any child in need 'free of charge' to experience Celebrity Ranch. The ranch operates an animal zoo, a fruit orchard, a chapel where children can think, contemplate and reflect on their ranch experience, and an equestrian center that houses mini-horses, llamas, and alpacas amongst other facilities. The ranch provides programs and theme weekends to entertain and educate children and youths.

Celiac Disease Foundation (CDF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1990 by Elaine Monarch to improve the quality of life for all people affected by celiac disease by funding important advocacy, education, and research initiatives. Today, under the guidance of a National Board of Directors and an internationally renowned Medical Advisory Board, the Foundation leads the fight to increase the rate of diagnosis, to improve treatments, and to find a cure for celiac disease and other gluten-related disorders.
