The Woodruff Arts Center is the heartbeat of Atlanta's arts community. Located in midtown, the Center offers Atlantans a bold variety of performing and visual arts - both traditional and avant-garde. Since its inception, the Woodruff Arts Center has grown into the most dynamic center for the visual and performing arts in the South and is among the top such centers in the nation. Today the Woodruff Arts Center includes the Alliance Theatre, High Museum of Art, Young Audiences, 14th Street Playhouse and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI)is the world's largest private, nonprofit ocean research, engineering and education organization. WHOI is dedicated to research and education to advance understanding of the ocean and its interaction with the Earth system, and to communicating this understanding for the benefit of society. WHOI offers professional development workshops for middle and high school teachers, held twice a year at the WHOI Exhibit Center - sponsored by the Academic Programs Office, Information Office, and Woods Hole Sea Grant. Our oceans and their inhabitants are under increasing stress. Though the oceans are central to our existence, we have barely begun to comprehend their complexities, or the consequences of our impact on them.

Wood's Homes is one of only a few children's mental health treatment centres in Western Canada and it provides treatment at ONE-THIRD the cost of hospital-based programs. The Woolcock Institute of Medical Research is one of Australia's leading respiratory and sleep research organisations. Our aim is to foster, develop and promote research into the fields of respiratory and sleep medicine. With a world-class network of specialised researchers, we deal with the causes, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and sleep disorders. In the words of Professor Jeffrey Drazen, Professor of Medicine, Harvard University and Editor-in-Chief of the New England Journal of Medicine, the Woolcock is one of the top six such institutes world-wide.

Workaid is a registered charity set up in 1986. We collect donated tools and equipment from all over the UK through a network of 91 area organisers. The items are refurbished by a team of around 170 volunteers at our workshop in Chesham, then packed and shipped to approved training projects, mostly in East Africa. Refurbished equipment is sent to a wide range of training and employment-generating schemes run by schools, polytechnics, churches, women's groups, and self-help groups for disabled people, HIV/AIDS sufferers and refugees. Hand tools are used to teach skilled trades such as carpentry, masonry, car maintenance and leatherwork. Sewing and knitting machines enable women to set up small businesses at home and typewriters are used to teach secretarial skills. We also supply horticultural tools to small-scale farming projects.

What is a workcamp: Unconventional holidays, an eventful stay far away from mass tourism, get to know closely culture and people and work for a good purpose. In a workcamp you will meet people from all over the world. The projects last in general 2 to 4 weeks and volunteers are engaged in a wide diversity of community development tasks including environmental, social or cultural work. Beside work, there is time for trips, interaction with local people and exciting experiences.

In 1996, World Care was launched as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Arizona. World Care thus began its first program in the area of education and labeled its school supply drive Tools for Schools. In its first year, World Care's Tools for Schools project supported 200 schoolchildren. By 2004, World Care supported over 25,000 children, 268 schools and countless teachers in Arizona. Tools for Schools has been reaching out into other states and countries over the several years, helping others get textbooks and basic school supplies through their local organizations.

Around 80% of all child cancer cases globally occur in low and middle income countries yet fewer than a third of children are diagnosed in these countries and of those that are treated less than 20% survive. Child cancer is highly curable with survival rates of around 80% in developed countries yet in low and middle income countries tens of thousands of children die needlessly every year from the disease - most dying without any effective pain relief. Our vision is to see a world where every child with cancer has access to the best possible treatment and care. World Child Cancer was set up in 2007 by ICCCPO (International Confederation of Child Cancer Parents Organisation), under the leadership of Geoff Thaxter.

World Concern works in a variety of places, but we excel at providing relief in areas not serviced by other agencies. In many of the countries where we work, the people who live there face significant political or religious restrictions. In all cases, we seek out the poorest and most vulnerable. Our staff includes about 1,000 people, assisted by countless volunteers. 95% of World Concern employees are citizens of the countries where we work. By employing locals, it provides financial value so that your donation can help more people. The background of our employees also allows us to better understand and overcome challenges we face daily basis. Founded in 1964 in Portland, Oregon, the World Forestry Center is a nonprofit educational institution. The World Forestry Center owns and operates two working forests donated to us by landowners who wanted to ensure their properties would be protected from development and managed according to the principles of sustainable forestry.
