Wilderness Foundation
Animals/Wildlife
The Wilderness Foundation (South Africa), founded in 1972, protects, and sustains African wilderness and wild lands through holistic and integrated conservation, social and education programmes. The Wilderness Foundation has been a pioneer in using wilderness as a positive force for social change in South Africa. To date, we have taken over one hundred thousand political, business and community leaders, as well as historically disadvantaged youth, through our programmes, which allow participants to experience wild nature. Our work in wilderness heals and sustains the human psyche and we have been leaders in the field of creating an understanding of the link between ecosystem health and human well-being.

Wildize Foundation
Animals/Wildlife
Africa is the heart of WildiZe Foundation. We have been supporting wildlife conservation and community development projects throughout sub-Saharan Africa for more than a decade and are proud of what we have accomplished. We have seen the positive impacts that can come from a small investment of resources in the right hands. We at WildiZe believe that to truly promote effective conservation, our work needs to be driven by the needs and ideas of the communities we work with, and that any actions taken need to be culturally and ecologically appropriate. We support projects that promote conservation through lifelong education, environmental regeneration, research on and protection of wildlife, sustainable income opportunities, and the application of appropriate agricultural technologies.
Wildlife & Ecological Investments
Animals/Wildlife
Wildlife and Ecological Investments is a voluntary association and a registered non-profit organisation with the NPO Directorate under the Non-Profit Organisations Act 71 of 1997, NPO# 061-998 and is a public benefit organisation. We have a multi-faceted approach whereby we mobilize local and international resources to invest in capital infrastructure, human resources and intellectual capital. As a result of these conservation investments we also create financial benefits for local communities whereby they directly prosper from protecting these areas. Our mandate is to initiate, implement and manage conservation projects and research activities in these areas of ecological importance. We also collaborate with environmental agencies wherein we contribute to established conservation efforts or assist with on-going research projects in already protected areas.
Wildlife Aid
Animals/Wildlife
All the animals that come into our care are treated and rehabilitated completely free of charge. Our aim is to return every animal that is capable of surviving back into its natural environment. Wildlife Aid was started more than 20 years ago, and Simon Cowell, the co-founder, still leads the charity, both in a very practical hands on way, as well as holding the position of managing trustee. Wildlife Aid, the home of Wildlife SOS, is an animal charity dedicated to wildlife rescue and wild animal rescue. We care about animal welfare, the environment, environmental issues, wildlife protection, conservation and british wildlife. At Wildlife Aid we have a full wildlife animal hospital with veterinary surgeons and full time veterinary nurses. We cater for all wildlife and wild animals including badgers, deer, foxes, pigeons, doves, frogs, hedgehogs, toads, snakes, rabbits, bats, mice and many more.
Wildlife Center of Virginia
Animals/Wildlife
The Wildlife Center of Virginia was formed in 1982 to provide quality health care, often on an emergency basis, to native wildlife. Since 1982, the Wildlife Center has treated more than 55,000 wild animals, representing 200 species of native birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. We trained a corps of wildlife medicine practitioners, including veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and volunteer wildlife rehabilitators. Those who have benefited from the professional training programs offered by the Center may now be found on the cutting-edge of wildlife veterinary medicine around the world.
Wildlife Conservation Research Unit - WildCRU
Animals/Wildlife
Founded in 1986, WildCRU was the first university-based conservation research unit in Europe. Today we are recognised as a world leader in our field. Most recently, our longstanding specialisation in wild carnivores has led to a partnership with the Panthera, with whom we are developing our aspiration to become the world‘s foremost university centre for felid conservation research.
Wildlife Conservation Society
Animals/Wildlife
With a commitment to protect 25 percent of the world's biodiversity, we address four of the biggest issues facing wildlife and wild places: climate change; natural resource exploitation; the connection between wildlife health and human health; and the sustainable development of human livelihoods. While taking on these issues, we manage more than 200 million acres of protected lands around the world, with more than 200 scientists on staff.
Wildlife Conservation Society Canada
Animals/Wildlife
WCS Canada was incorporated as a conservation organization in Canada in July 2004. It implements and supports comprehensive field studies that gather information on wildlife needs and then seeks to resolve key conservation problems by working with a broad array of stakeholders, including local community members, conservation groups, regulatory agencies, and commercial interests. It also provides technical assistance and biological expertise to local groups and agencies that lack the resources to tackle conservation dilemmas. Major issues addressed to date include protected-area design, wildlife monitoring and recovery, ecosystem restoration, integrated landscape management and community-based conservation. WCS Canada is independently registered and managed, while retaining a strong collaborative working relationship with sister WCS programs in more than 55 nations.
Wildlife First
Animals/Wildlife
Wildlife First is a science driven conservation organization that has been focusing its effort, since 1995, to save endangered species and remnants of wildlife habitats in the Southern Indian State of Karnataka. Wildlife First believes that if intact wildlife assemblages and endangered species are to survive in the face of rising market-driven demand for biological resources, the central task must be to totally sever all linkages between wildlife reserves and the market. Therefore, Wildlife First advocates a strategy that first arrests and then eliminates the flow of resources from wildlife reserves to local, regional and global markets.
Wildlife For Tomorrow
Animals/Wildlife
The Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization that works closely with the Arizona Game and Fish Department to provide additional support for projects and education activities where traditional resources are not adequate. Wildlife for Tomorrow's efforts focus entirely on worthy projects within Arizona and no funds are passed on to national offices or to projects in other parts of the country. The Foundation does not participate in or attempt to influence regulatory, management or legislative decisions nor does it take a position on controversial or value-sensitive issues. Its single purpose is to support important and worthy projects that make a difference to the wildlife and people of Arizona.
Wildlife Forever
Animals/Wildlife
Since 1987, Wildlife Forever has provided funding to more than 600 projects in 50 states plus Canada through private special interest conservation groups, state game and fish departments and federal agencies. Wildlife Forever projects target research, management, land acquisition, and educational purposes. Special emphasis is placed upon grassroots programs.
Wildlife Friends of Thailand
Animals/Wildlife
The Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT) is currently running several projects from hands-on wildlife rescue, medical care, wildlife rehabilitation, research on wildlife and marine mammals as well as the release of wild animals back to the wild. Our goal in the first place is to provide a safe shelter for abused and neglected wild animals. We aim to rescue those animals who have suffered at the hands of humans, rehabilitating and releasing where possible, and caring for those who are unable to be returned to the wild. We aim to provide the best standard of living and a life as close to wild as possible for these animals. The Wildlife Rescue centre is build on temple land; the abbot of the Kao Look Chang temple has generously given us a huge plot of forest for the animals to live in.
Wildlife Habitat Canada
Animals/Wildlife
Wildlife Habitat Canada is a national, non-profit, charitable conservation organization established in 1984 by Environment Canada, provincial wildlife agencies and conservation organizations. Wildlife Habitat Canada envisions a future where Canadians share a conservation ethic that recognizes the fundamental importance of wildlife habitats that are abundant, rich and support biodiversity. Since 1985, Wildlife Habitat Canada has provided grants of close to $34 million to hundreds of habitat conservation projects across the full range of Canadian landscapes and seascapes, as well as all provinces and territories, through its granting program. We have also been an important catalyst of many groundbreaking habitat conservation initiatives, such as Carolinian Canada, and the North American Waterfowl Management Plan.
Wildlife Habitat Protection Trust
Animals/Wildlife
The Wildlife Habitat Protection Trust was established in 2006. We are a registered charity and our work involves working closely with local communities and wider audiences to establish develop and maintain natural conservation areas. Many wildlife habitats and natural areas are fast disappearing as more and more land is reclaimed for agriculture and commercial development; development of these areas has led to the destruction of natural habitats and breeding grounds of many wildlife species. As a result of this, the existence of certain species of birds and animals are now threatened, thus highlighting the importance of such conservation projects. Conservation is now of major importance with many species of birds and animals that were once common in this Country, becoming quite scarce. If action is not taken to protect breeding grounds and habitats of our less frequently seen species, wildlife that we take for granted now will become a rare sight in years to come. The Old Park Plantation provides us with a great opportunity to secure a safe haven and breeding ground for a wide variety of wildlife.
Wildlife Habitat Trust
Animals/Wildlife
The Wildlife Habitat Trust (WHT) was set up in 1986 by members of the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC). The WHT provides grants to help manage sites for wildlife and is now turning its attention to providing some support for local and national Biodiversity Action Plans (BAPs). Most recently, grants have been given to help with the conservation of grey partridge, water voles and dormice. These grants support the conservation objectives of the RSPB, the Environment Agency and English Nature.
Wildlife Heritage Foundation
Animals/Wildlife
Based in Kent UK we are an active partner in the European Endangered Species Breeding Programmes (EEP), as well as setting up education programmes for the people that share the habitats of these wonderful cats. The WHF is also raising awareness and funding for big cat projects around the world. The WHF is based at The Big Cat Sanctuary in Smarden, Kent, where we house a small number of selected endangered big cats with the view to breeding and where possible re-introduction to their home continents. The WHF is an innovative charity allowing people from all walks of life, nationalities and countries to join and actually assist in the long term care, and where possible reintroduce animals and plants in to their native habitat.

Wildlife Preservation Society of Australia
Animals/Wildlife
Our Society was formed in 1909 with a commitment to preserve and protect our unique Australian wildlife in all its forms. We are one of the oldest conservation societies in Australia and probably one of the oldest in the world. Given that Australia is a land where environmental health and land use is governed by water supply, the aims of wildlife conservation cannot be separated from and must be integrated with plans for land management generally.
Wildlife Protection Society of India
Animals/Wildlife
The WILDLIFE PROTECTION SOCIETY OF INDIA (WPSI) was founded in 1994 by Belinda Wright, its Executive Director, who was an award-winning wildlife photographer and filmmaker till she took up the cause of conservation. With a team of committed environmentalists, WPSI is one of the most respected and effective wildlife conservation organisations in India. It is a registered non-profit organisation, funded by a wide range of Indian and international donors. The Society's Board Members include leading conservationists and business people. We collaborate with state governments to monitor the illegal wildlife trade and provide them with hands-on training and support to combat poaching and the illegal wildlife trade.
