Udayan Care

Udayan Care is a registered charitable Trust working for the last 15 years, for the quality care of disadvantaged children and women, expanding its horizons to reach out to underserved sections of society that need intervention. Through the power of mentorship, we nurture relationships that transform orphaned children in our long-term foster homes, disadvantaged girls in our education scholarships, underserved youth and adults in our IT & Vocational training centres, and children affected by HIV in our outreach programme. We have served more than 6500 people in 5 cities and advocacy children's rights and protection.

Ufadhili Trust

In 1998, the Ford Foundation East Africa Office commissioned work to explore the idea of self-reliance and community-led and resourced development. This work was occasioned by the need to reduce dependence on foreign aid. Called the Africa Philanthropy Initiative (API), the work involved research, focused discussion, and debate on sustainability of development efforts by stakeholders throughout Africa. The efforts resulted in important ideas, initiatives, and institutions, including Ufadhili Trust, that champion the cause of local resource mobilisation for social development. Ufadhili’s distinctive niche is based on one of the greatest challenges that confronts the civil society sector. That of raising adequate resources to support development work. Ufadhili promotes and facilitates collaborative links within and among communities, individuals, and local businesses to increase efforts in pooling resources together from various local sources.

Uganda Development Services - UDS

Uganda Development Services is motivated by Christ's commission to love by sharing what we have with others. We consciously depend on Christ's enabling and provision. UDS in the UK identifies with and supports the work of Uganda Development Services, Uganda. It also runs Ufund Services through which donors in the UK send funds that they have raised themselves to Uganda. These are then distributed to projects of their own choosing in Uganda, which they wish to support.

UICC

Founded in 1933, the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is the largest cancer fighting organisation of its kind, with more than 400 member organisations across 120 countries. UICC is committed to delivering the targets of the World Cancer Declaration through strategic partnerships involving members and other institutions interested in fighting cancer. Together we aim to save millions of lives by focusing on what needs to be done.

UKSA

UKSA is a strategic, umbrella and coordinating body working with agencies and athletes from all four Home Countries in the UK who develop grass roots sports opportunities. UKSA facilitates talented athletes along the performance pathway to international opportunities including European and World Championship events, plus the Global Games and ultimately the Paralympic Games. It is the only portal in the UK through which Great Britain athletes can compete at INAS-FID competition.

UN Watch

UN Watch is a non-governmental organization based in Geneva whose mandate is to monitor the performance of the United Nations by the yardstick of its own Charter. UN Watch was established in 1993 under the Chairmanship of Ambassador Morris B. Abram, the former U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva. UN Watch participates actively at the UN as an accredited NGO in Special Consultative Status to the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and as an Associate NGO to the UN Department of Public Information (DPI). UN Watch is affiliated with the American Jewish Committee (AJC).

UNAIDS

UNAIDS, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, is an innovative joint venture of the United Nations family, bringing together the efforts and resources of ten UN system organizations in the AIDS response to help the world prevent new HIV infections, care for people living with HIV, and mitigate the impact of the epidemic.

The organization was established to support, via internet and other media, the actions, projects and human, financial and material needs of private and/or public Ecuadorian initiatives in the domains of education, health, socio-economic progression and the environment. We contribute to the structuring and increased sustainability of these actions and projects through the transmission of methods and of material, educational and technological means. Our work helps to improve the access to education and the health system for the Ecuadorian population, in particular population groups deemed "at risk". We wish to introduce to you these individuals, their cause, their actions, their existence, and their permanent struggle to help improve living conditions for the Ecuadorian people.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees was established on December 14, 1950 by the United Nations General Assembly. The agency is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. In more than five decades, the agency has helped tens of millions of people restart their lives. Today, a staff of some 6,600 people in more than 110 countries continues to help about 34 million persons.

Our work is diverse and includes maternal and child health, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, water and sanitation, education and child protection. We ensure that our programmes our sustainable and effective by working at the family, community, regional and country level with direct access to policy makers and local organisations. In emergencies, we can respond within 48 hours, using our network of supply hubs located strategically around the world. Here in New Zealand, we’re working closely with other organisations to bring children’s issues into the spotlight and affect change at a government level.

United Hospital Fund

We advance policies and support programs that promote high quality, patient-centered health care services that are accessible to all. We undertake research and policy analysis to improve the financing and delivery of care in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other care settings. We raise funds and give grants to examine emerging issues and stimulate innovative programs. And we work collaboratively with civic, professional, and volunteer leaders to identify and realize opportunities for change.

United Kingdom National Committee for UNIFEM

UNIFEM is the women's fund at the United Nations. Since 1976 it has provided financial and technical assistance to innovative programmes which foster women's empowerment and gender equality. Today the organisation's work touches the lives of women and girls in more than 100 countries. UNIFEM also helps to make sure the voices of women are heard at the United Nations. UNIFEM UK is one of 16 national organisations which offer a global network of support through membership programmes, public education about women's issues and fundraising to support projects.
