The Red Door
Children/Education
The Red Door was the brainchild of 3 families back in 2001. Each lived in South Dublin, and despite years of searching, couldn't find an appropriate school placement for their respective autistic child. Our Red Door School was one of Ireland’s first special schools where individual educational programs are provided under the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis. Founded by the Learning Centre for Autistic Children and starting in 2001 with just 4 students, the school has expanded and in 2009, moved to its current premises in Monkstown. The Red Door has now been recognised as a Special School for children with autism and complex needs. providing autism-specific education using a range of evidence-based interventions including Applied Behaviour Analysis.
The Red Squirrel Survival Trust
Animals/Wildlife
RSST is committed to partnering with dedicated and knowledgeable local groups around the country. We do not try to reinvent the wheel; instead we listen to what local groups tell us and work together to protect red squirrels in the UK. We favour the use of volunteers wherever possible to support our aims. As well as ensuring strong community involvement in the cause, this also keeps administration and overheads costs to a minimum. We have seen in areas such as northern England that with the right approach, red squirrels will reoccupy their former territory. The vital ingredients that allow this to happen are dedicated leadership, strong community support, and a realistic policy of grey squirrel control.
The Refugee Council
Human Rights
The Refugee Council wants to see a fair, humane and effective asylum system that provides protection and enables refugees to rebuild their lives in safety. As we approach the sixtieth anniversary of the 1951 Refugee Convention next year, we are asking the new government to seize the opportunity to create such a system. We’ll build on the success of the asylum election pledge signed by 1,031 parliamentary candidates, 219 of whom were successfully elected to parliament, including nine members of the cabinet. Pledge signatories include the Prime Minister David Cameron and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, as well as Immigration Minister Damian Green.

The Resource Foundation’s regional expertise and its professional, multilingual staff enable donors to confidently and efficiently give to Latin America and the Caribbean. Its tailored giving services help donors optimize their philanthropic activities, while meeting all legal and fiscal requirements.

The RNRM Childrens Fund
Children/Education
The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Children’s Fund has supported children whose parents work, or have worked, for the Naval Service for over a hundred years. At the outset, the Children’s Fund primarily supported the children of ex-servicemen, although over the years, the evolution of society and war has turned the tide and, at present, around 80% of its beneficiaries’ parents are still serving. This is, however, not the only aspect of The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Children’s Fund to change and develop since it was established. The areas the Children’s Fund provides support for have expanded and now include childcare, special needs education, days out and in-home support in times of crisis. An area of particular growth has been the Charity’s focus on assisting children within its remit who have special needs. This work now accounts for nearly half of its awards to beneficiaries. In the last year alone, The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Children’s Fund has supported over 1,500 children, but with over 40,000 servicemen currently in the Naval Service, it is keen to ensure that naval families know where to find us.

The Rutherford Institute
Human Rights
Founded in 1982 by constitutional attorney and author John W. Whitehead, The Rutherford Institute is a civil liberties organization that provides free legal services to people whose constitutional and human rights have been threatened or violated. The Rutherford Institute has emerged as one of the nation's leading advocates of civil liberties and human rights, litigating in the courts and educating the public on a wide spectrum of issues affecting individual freedom in the United States and around the world. The Rutherford Institute has defended the constitutional rights of thousands of people. Many of these cases involved the defense of parents' and students' rights, free speech rights, and privacy rights. Most cases were settled out of court, some were fought in courtrooms across the country, and several were appealed all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. No matter what legal question was involved or how much attention the case received, each case has been equally important. Whether our attorneys are protecting the rights of parents whose children are strip-searched at school, standing up for a teacher fired for speaking about religion or defending the rights of individuals against illegal search and seizure, The Rutherford Institute offers assistance—and hope—to thousands.
