Animal Welfare Foundation of Canada
Animals/Wildlife
The Animal Welfare Foundation of Canada was incorporated as a federal non-profit foundation in 1965. The principal function of the Foundation is to accept donations and legacies and to apply such monies exclusively to the benefit of animals. The funds received are administered in accordance with the wishes of the donor, using the experience of the Board of Trustees to ensure that the money is spent to the maximum benefit of animals by promoting interest in the study of animal welfare, assisting research into specific animal welfare problems and preventing cruelty and encouraging consideration for all animals. We wish to assist in the establishment, development, and support of any organizations with objects similar or compementary to the aforesaid whether or not they are affiliated with any provincial or national humane society.
Animal Welfare Institute
Animals/Wildlife
Since its founding in 1951, AWI has sought to alleviate the suffering inflicted on animals by people. In the organization's early years, our particular emphasis was on the desperate needs of animals used for experimentation. In the decades that followed, we expanded the scope of our work to address many other areas of animal suffering. Today, one of our greatest areas of emphasis is cruel animal factories, which raise and slaughter pigs, cows, chickens and other animals. The biggest are in our country, and they are expanding worldwide.
Animal Welfare League

The Animal Welfare League was founded in 1935 to stop the suffering of animals that seemed common place in Chicagoland. Our founding shelter, located at 6224 South Wabash Avenue in Chicago, still exists today as the only humane society on the south side of Chicago. Our Wabash shelter operates in an economically depressed area and provides valuable services to residents in the area such as shelter and care to homeless and needy animals, low cost clinic services to pet owners on a limited income and no-charge monthly pet food distribution.

Animals Australia

Animals Australia is Australia's second largest and the most dynamic national animal protection organisation, representing some 40 member societies and thousands of individual supporters. Animals Australia has an unprecedented track record in investigating and exposing animal cruelty. In the past years our work has resulted in five 60 Minutes segments exposing factory farming and the live export trade and further segments highlighting animal cruelty on Today Tonight, Four Corners, A Current Affair and Landline. Investigations in the Middle East have resulted in the first ever suspension of the live export trade (to Egypt) and to a benchmark prosecution of a live export company for cruelty.
Animals Matter To Me
Animals/Wildlife
Animals can suffer and feel pain. There is, however, inadequate protection for vast numbers of animals in many parts of the world. Animals continue to suffer needlessly due to intentional and unintentional cruelty, ignorance and neglect. There is an urgent need for an international commitment to protect animals and their welfare. Such a commitment would inspire political leaders, organisations and individuals to treat animals better and will be the beginning of the end of animal cruelty across the world. It is our responsibility to ensure that animals are given the protection they deserve and that the indisputable link between animal welfare, the protection of people and the planet is recognised.
