My Stuff Bags Foundation
Children/Education
Imagine the trauma of being separated from all you know and not even having your own stuff. You see, abused and neglected children must often be rescued so suddenly that they do not have time to prepare, nor do the agencies that serve them. So most of these children arrive at and transition through the crisis centers and foster homes with few, if any, personal belongings. What’s worse, they often lug around in trash bags what few possessions they can gather. That’s how they got the awful nickname: "trash-bag kids". My Stuff Bags helps these children get settled in their new surroundings, and because they are filled with donations of new belongings from people all across the country, the children learn that lots of people really care about what has happened to them.
