Healing Hands International

Based in USA United States
Humanitarian Aid

Dr. Randy Steger, marketing professor at David Lipscomb University, presented a proposal to serve as a pilot program that would utilize the energy and abilities of students to solicit donations of supplies. Through this urgent need for humanitarian relief the students organized the Healing Hands ministry, which was later incorporated as Healing Hands International in 1994. Since acquiring a 501 (C) (3) status in 1994, HHI has shipped to over 70 different countries in need. HHI seeks to accomplish it's mission through helping congregations of the churches of Christ collect, ship and distribute medications, medical supplies, equipment, agricultural aid, school supplies, and other items that reduce human suffering. Missionaries and church leaders will continue to be the source of distribution in host countries. Medicines and medical supplies will be distributed to competent medical and relief workers in close relationship with these missionaries. Aid will be provided to all people, regardless of race, religious preference, creed, or ethnic background.

Based in GBR United Kingdom
Research/Dev

HETN is a registered charity, based in Malvern, UK, which is dedicated to combating poor nutrition particularly in the African sub-continent. HETN is at the forefront of exploring the relationship between nutrition and chronic disease. The human body needs sufficient nutrients for optimum health, today, as a result of environmental degradation, farming methods, food processing and diet choices, there is a gap in the nutritional status of most people. In consequence, our immunity is compromised and chronic diseases are on the increase. In the West, people may be living longer but half of them have a health problem that requires taking a prescription drug on a regular basis. This worldwide problem is extreme in Africa, where primary micronutrient deficiencies are widespread and severe.
