Founded in 1998, Global Nature Fund is a non-profit, private, independent international foundation for the protection of environment and nature, registered according to § 80 BGB by the Senate Administration for Justice, Berlin. In 1998 the Living Lakes network has been initiated by the foundation Global Nature Fund, a global network of environmental partnership organisations striving for the protection of lakes and wetlands worldwide. GNF’s work consists mainly of initiating and carrying out of nature/environment protection projects to preserve the animal world, the protection of migrating species, their habitat and their migratory routes; development of model projects for the promotion of sustainable economy; publications and organisation of events dealing with the protection of nature and environment; and promotion of international conventions on species protection.

With staff based in Seattle and Managua and a 15-year track record, GP currently serves more than 845,000 borrowers through our 27 microfinance partner institutions in seven Latin American countries. With the help of our social investment strategy, our impact has grown significantly in recent years.

In the decision of the International Symposium on Tiger held at New Delhi during February 1993 wherein a Delhi declaration on tiger conservation was adopted by the participants of the conference, there was a recommendation that a Global Tiger Forum be set up to embark on a world wide campaign to save the wild tiger. As a follow up of the decision, the first meeting of the tiger range countries was held in March 1994 at New Delhi attended by 11 tiger range states and others. In the said meeting a resolution was passed to form the Global Tiger Forum with its secretariat at New Delhi and the Union Minister for Environment & Forest, Govt. of India as the first Chairman of this forum. A Global Tiger Forum is therefore established with members from the willing countries who have tiger populations so that, through regular exchange of information and experience, the status of the tiger can be closely monitored and its future duly safeguarded. It is recognised that a wide range of skills and experience relevant to the preservation of tiger exists both within the Government and Non-Government sectors. The Global Tiger Forum shall seek to mobilise all available expertise to preserve the tiger and its habitat.

Destruction of woodland and forest and unsustainable felling of valuable timbers are threatening many important species, and alarmingly few of these endangered trees are receiving conservation attention. The Global Trees Campaign, a joint initiative between Fauna & Flora International (FFI) and Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) in association with other partners around the world, aims to highlight the plight of the world's threatened tree species and initiate conservation action to save them.

The Global Volunteer Network (GVN) was launched in December 2000 by Colin Salisbury, its Founder and Executive Director, after spending time volunteering in Ghana, West Africa. While he was there he saw the tremendous difference volunteers could make in helping local organisations achieve their goals. Upon returning to New Zealand he spent some time researching the different volunteer organisations around the world and was amazed at how expensive and limiting many programs were in terms of volunteer opportunities.

Global Witness is largely responsible for natural resources occupying the prominent role in the international agenda that they currently do.

The development of an effective humanitarian project that is able to stand the test of time relies upon communication. By presenting a sober yet appropriate account of each charities activities, each project will be able to best present a credible image to the public, sponsors or potential investors as well as public authorities. All too often, these small bodies have a minimal if not non-existent communication budget, thus leaving such charities very much in the shadows of larger organisations. In order to offer them the media exposure necessary for their assimilation, Gloriamundi designs and creates brochures, logos, photographs, films, websites and all forms of informatic support which is freely available to all supported projects. We therefore seek to become familiar with and gain recognition for the work carried out by those groups which we support, and consequently these bodies will be able to gain the financial and logistical support needed to develop their activities.

Founded as a local group in 1990, the Gay and Lesbian Independent School Teachers Network (GLSTN) began as a volunteer group of 70 gay and lesbian educators. At that time, there were two Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) in the nation, only one state with policy in place to protect lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students, and a general lack of awareness of the needs of LGBT students. LGBT youth did not have a voice in the education community or in the LGBT movement. There were few, if any, resources available for teachers to discuss LGBT issues. Currently, GLSEN has registered more than 4,000 GSAs, has approximately 40 full time staff, a governing board of 20 members and two advisory committees at the national level. Since homophobia and heterosexism undermine a healthy school climate, we work to educate teachers, students and the public at large about the damaging effects these forces have on youth and adults alike.

The Global Mountain Biodiversity Assessment Network was initiated by the Swiss Academy of Sciences and inaugurated by DIVERSITAS in 2000 in fulfillment of Agenda 21. The network's activities were officially taken up by convening the First International Conference on Mountain Biodiversity in Rigi-Kaltbad LU, Switzerland in September 2000. The research network focuses on biological richness, its function and change at the high elevation end of the biosphere. The Global Mountain Biodiversity Assessment (GMBA) is a cross-cutting network of DIVERSITAS with the task to explore and explain the great biological richness of the mountains of the world. The Global Mountain Biodiversity Assessment (GMBA) is a global network on mountain biodiversity research of DIVERSITAS (Paris, F), an international global change research programme on biodiversity sciences.

We want you to take an active role and we aim to do this by matching your skill set with charity needs. Go Help is the vehicle to promote this, and with your help the projects will grow and we hope to be able to work with a host of charities across the world.

GOAL is an international humanitarian agency dedicated to alleviating the suffering of the poorest of the poor. Since its inception, GOAL has spent in excess of £530 million on humanitarian programmes in almost fifty countries. Over 1,500 GOALies and many thousands of local staff have worked in the developing world on GOAL’s behalf and the organisation has responded to every major humanitarian disaster since 1977. In the event of a humanitarian crisis, the primary focus of our emergency response teams is to get life-saving assistance as soon as possible to those directly affected and most in need. We ensure as far as possible that they are provided with the basic requirements of life: water, food, shelter, medicine and necessary healthcare. Once an emergency situation begins to improve, GOAL will initiate whatever rehabilitation programmes are needed. We work where possible with communities and local NGOs on fixed water sites and sanitation projects, and on food distribution and healthcare programmes. If required, we will start to (re-) build roads, bridges, houses, schools, hospitals and healthcare clinics.

GOAL is established in Sindh province in Pakistan and is providing life-saving support to some of the millions of people most affected by the devastating floods. We are working with local NGO HANDS to support the emergency evacuation of the displaced populations by road and boat and providing water and food to some of those most in need of assistance. Over the coming days, GOAL plans to continue this work and distribute crucial non-food items such as clothes, blankets, mosquito nets, cooking equipment and plastic sheeting for emergency shelter, while other assistance will be provided in the form of sanitation and medical support.

Besides implementing its own programmes, GOAL often works with partner organisations and missionary groups who have similar objectives. GOAL aims to reduce a community’s level of dependency by training local personnel so that programmes can continue after GOAL leaves an area.

Our clients live throughout the five boroughs of New York City, Hudson County and Newark, New Jersey. The staff helps clients to use God's Love We Deliver services effectively, refers them to other local social service agencies that are best equipped to meet their other needs, and advocates on their behalf when necessary.
