Cats are an endless source of fascination, but back in 1958 when the Feline Advisory Bureau (fab) was founded by Joan Judd, little was really known about them or their veterinary needs. fab gathered information from a variety of sources and funded vets to specialise in feline care and so had a major influence on early advances in veterinary treatment. That work, and influence, continues to this day, not only in the treatment of disease but in establishing standards for boarding catteries and providing information, both specific and general, to cat lovers everywhere.

FRFA is a Calgary registered charity that provides rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing for cats living on the streets. We are a NO-KILL organization. We believe every cat deserves the opportunity to be loved and well cared for. Whether injured, ill, abused or feral we work to restore their health, confidence and ability to trust. We believe in prevention as the means to reduce cat overpopulation. Every cat neutered or spayed significantly reduces the future cat population. Establishing a fund to assist those who cannot afford to spay/neuter their own cats is one of our priorities. While there is a tragic story behind almost every furry little face you will see, each of these cats and kittens now has the opportunity they so desperately need; the opportunity to be loved and cared for.

Hundreds of Canadian and international musicians have performed at the Festival over 28 seasons. The FOTS has an education mandate, offering master classes for developing musicians, open rehearsals, workshops for local children and lectures by musicians and composers, all designed to improve the musical understanding and appreciation of audience members. This element of the Festival was taken to a new level in 2001 with the Music From the Inside Out series. Family concerts on Saturdays introduce young audience members to the joys of making and hearing music.

We have clients throughout North America and are dedicated to promoting increased independence to men and women who are blind by providing them with the highest quality German shepherd guide dogs. The demand for Fidelco guide dogs is at an all-time high. We attribute this to the quality of our dogs (a breed within a breed), our pioneering In-community Placementprogram and our second-to-none client follow-up. Fidelco has more than 100 foster families and are always looking for dedicated families and individuals to love, care for and socialize our pups. The Fight Cancer Foundation is the marketing and fundraising arm of the Bone Marrow Donor Institute. The Fight Cancer Foundation is dedicated to the support, care and treatment of patients with leukaemia and other forms of cancer. The Bone Marrow Donor Institute was founded in 1989 by a group of families who had experienced first hand the devastation of leukaemia. With the aim of establishing a bone marrow donor registry and finding a cure for leukaemia, the Institute broadened its’ scope to include a number of programs which support patients with leukaemia and other forms of cancer. The focus of our work is projects that are particularly related to cancer, leukaemia and other diseases of the blood.

We are Fight for Sight An Irish charity devoted to the prevention of Sight Loss. The Irish Fight for Sight Campaign is the only national voluntary organisation solely concerned with the prevention of sight loss. In Ireland our hospital facilities are as good as anywhere in the world. Our doctors are dedicated and highly skilled. But it is no secret that money is constantly required to continue and increase this good work. The Irish Fight for Sight Campaign was founded specifically to work against sight loss.

These include macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataract, diabetic retinopathy as well as the causes of childhood blindness.
