Epilepsy Action is the largest member-led epilepsy organisation in Britain, acting as the voice for the UK's estimated 456,000 people with epilepsy, as well as their friends, families, carers, health professionals and the many other people on whose lives the condition has an impact. As well as campaigning to improve epilepsy services and raise awareness of the condition, we offer assistance to people in a number of ways including a national network of branches, accredited volunteers, regular regional conferences and freephone and email helplines.

The Epilepsy Association was founded in 1955 by W.D. Taylor, and is Canada's oldest incorporated epilepsy organization. 2005 marked our 50th year of providing services in Calgary and the surrounding area. Volunteers have formed the heart and soul of our organization from its earliest days. The Epilepsy Association of Calgary is a local, charitable, social services agency and is governed by a voluntary board of directors. Services are implemented by professional staff. We have an office in Red Deer, Alberta, which was opened in 2000 to address a lack of locally accessible services available to Central Albertans.

The Epilepsy Foundation of America® is the national voluntary agency solely dedicated to the welfare of the more than 3 million people with epilepsy in the U.S. and their families. The organization works to ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences; to improve how people with epilepsy are perceived, accepted and valued in society; and to promote research for a cure. In addition to programs conducted at the national level, epilepsy clients throughout the United States are served by more than 50 Epilepsy Foundation affiliates around the country. We are a non-profit, charitable agency, designated as a 501 (c) 3 organization by the Internal Revenue Service. Donations to the Foundation and its affiliates are tax deductible as allowed by law.

Through a network of local agencies, contacts and associates, Epilepsy Ontario provides client services, counselling, information and referral services, education and advocacy services for children and adults living with seizure disorders, and for their families, friends, co-workers and caregivers. EO offers long-term programmes to raise standards of care and support medical research into seizure disorders. We hope to improve public awareness and education through the Provincial Resource Centre, publications, this web site, conferences, and outreach programs.

Considerable effort is put into increasing public awareness and raising community understanding of epilepsy.

Epilepsy Research UK

Epilepsy Research UK was formed following the merger of the Epilepsy Research Foundation and the Fund for Epilepsy, in April 2007. It supports and promotes basic and clinical scientific research into the causes, treatments and prevention of epilepsy; and is the only national charity in the UK that funds independent research exclusively into this condition. Epilepsy Research UK supports the work of scientists and clinicians throughout the UK, who are investigating all aspects of epilepsy in both adults and children. Our annual research spending is about £800,000 - raised almost wholly through donations from the public - and we fund 4-9 new research projects each year. In addition, Epilepsy Research UK arranges technical workshops and scientific meetings to encourage collaboration between researchers. We work closely with other epilepsy charities to ensure that epilepsy is recognised in Government health and social care policy.

Epworth Choir

Woking's Epworth Choir, one of Surrey's leading choirs, has a membership of over 120, attracting singers from West Surrey and North East Hampshire. Each year, the Epworth Choir perform a spectrum of music ranging from a major choral work and carols in Guildford Cathedral to classical/popular music and carols at venues in Woking. Equine Market Watch Sanctuaries

EMW-UK's HEREFORDSHIRE Sanctuary is a gentle place for equines in need of sanctuary. It is set in beautiful countryside and is a restful, healing place. Currently we have 13 residents with many more out on long term loan in approved homes. EMW- UK is dedicated to ending the abuses and suffering of equines in markets and auctions. Our team of field workers attend as many horse Auction sales as possible to monitor the conditions in which the horses and ponies are presented for sale and the manner in which the sale is conducted, they report any actions that do not comply with the Law relating to Auction sales to the relevant authorities. EMW-UK actively campaigns against indiscriminate breeding of valueless foals whose average life span is a scant and miserable 6 months. EMW-UK is an independent equine welfare organisation and will investigate any incidents of cruelty, neglect and abuse inflicted on any equine. EMW-UK aim to re-home as many inmates as possible, subject to home checks and suitability. this charity does not allow breeding from any of the horses or ponies that come into our care. We have our own team of volunteers and specialists who give their time and expertise to this charity for free and we are supported by well respected companies including Natural Animal Feeds, The Pure Feed Company and Countrywide Stores. EQUINE MARKET WATCH UK tand by our motto of "WE will NOT look away" We were presented with the best horse rescue award of 2012 at the Wetnose Awards in London.

Erbs Palsy Association

Erbs Palsy is a condition caused mainly by trauma at birth, the degree of injury ranges from relatively minor to total loss of function in the affected arm. The Erbs Palsy Friends & Family works with medical professionals to improve understanding and treatment for Erbs cases in Ireland. For example, we welcome the introduction of a specialised Erbs clinic at the Central Remedial Clinic (CRC) in Clontarf, Dublin, which brings a co-ordinated approach to the treatment of Erbs cases in Ireland. The CRC has a team consisting of a neurologist, orthopaedic surgeon, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and psychologist.

ERSWA was established and registered as a Welfare Organisation during September 1969. This was at a time when there was a definite need for an organisation to manage and administer certain projects in Elsies River. The history of Elsies River spans over more than a decade and is at present a residential area, 12 kilometers from Cape Town, for more than 90 000 inhabitants. We offer pre-school training facilities for children, youth programmes, the improvement of the quality of life for all the community. In addition to rendering such services to the community we aim to alleviate social distress by raising funds for the promotion of such services.
