Sustainable development needs energy. Energy provides the basis for the development of modern forms of healthcare, education, transport, production and communication. Many developing countries face a lack of affordable, reliable and clean energy. Solutions to this shortage are usually found not in large-scale power generation, but rather in small-scale installations in the direct environment of the entrepreneur, school or household. These often concern renewable energy, tailored to the potential of the specific location.
