The purpose of the Charity is to help orphans and homeless children in India through the provision of Children's Homes, Care Services, Financial, Educational & Medical support. It is also our aim to relieve hardship, sickness and poor health amongst elderly people in India through the provision of housing, care services, financial and medical support.

The projects that Africa Foundation fund and facilitate, assist in the protection of Africa’s wilderness through support for the socio-economic development of rural populations living in, or close to the conservation areas. Together with eco-tourism operators - primarily the & Beyond organisation - and in consultation with the communities themselves, Africa Foundation has supported many successful community empowerment projects and is currently helping to fund six major programmes in addition to over forty smaller projects in South Africa, Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

The Africa Institute of South Africa (AISA) is an independent research organisation and think-tank, focusing on Africa in its research, publications and resource library. The Institute has built a solid reputation over 40 years, combining in-depth analysis and research with topicality and policy relevance. AISA's mandate gives it full responsibility to conduct research on African affairs; the institute covers all topics in contemporary Africa, ranging from Politics, socio-economics and issues of development. AISA also houses one of the most impressive libraries for documentation on African affairs in the world. AISA’s researchers include some of the foremost thinkers on contemporary African affairs in the world and their research output is of a magnificent standard.

n 2001, Pastor Charles Mugisha Buregeya founded Africa New Life to follow God's calling on his life to proclaim the gospel and help the poor, the orphaned and the widowed. Today, thousands of children, dozens of women and hundreds of families benefit from the ministries of Africa New Life in Rwanda. By coupling the message of the Gospel with acts of compassion, Africa New Life serves the people of Rwanda spiritually and physically.

Africa Now supports farmers and small businesses to produce and sell better products. By supporting their own hard work and creativity, Africa Now offers a 'hand-up' and a future of opportunity. We assist with finance, training, technology and securing a fair price from buyers. Africa Now not only helps producers expand their existing product range, but also provides training on new innovations and technologies, links to local banks for loans, and assistance in seeking out reliable markets where their products can be sold. We also provide auditing services to companies seeking to be more socially responsible in their business dealings in Africa with the aim of improving the lives and working conditions of local factory and farm staff.

Africa SOMA Inc. is a federally and provincially registered not-for profit, fully volunteer organization supporting small-scale educational initiatives in Kenya. The Swahili word "Soma" means "to learn" and captures the main mission of our Canadian registered, charitable, all-volunteer organization. Most of our activities are based out of a rural Maasai community, Elangata Wuas, in Southern Kenya and in the Nairobi slums, where we work with local organizations servicing youth.

Africa's Children – Africa's Future (AC-AF) envisions a future in which all children have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. To achieve this goal AC-AF currently works within African communities to help build a better, sustainable future for the most vulnerable children in our Orphan and Vulnerable Children Support Programme (OVCS). AC-AF also works with high-school aged youth around the world in our u+me=we programme, which aims to educate and empower students about the AIDS epidemic and related issues, while encouraging a creative cross-cultural dialogue. In the future, we hope to expand our outreach through the OVCS programme. This sustainable model, with initial training by AC-AF, can be adapted to and managed by any dedicated community, in order to provide positive change and opportunity for the world’s most vulnerable children on a wider scale. u+me=we has expanded 10 fold since our programme implementation started in 2007, and it is our intention to keep building the programme and network of youth ambassadors for change.

The African Agriculture Technology Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation designed to facilitate and promote public/private partnerships for the access and delivery of appropriate proprietary agricultural technologies for use by resource-poor smallholder farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa. The Foundation is a one-stop-shop that provides expertise and know-how that facilitates the identification, access, development, delivery and utilisation of proprietary agricultural technologies. AATF works towards food security and poverty reduction in Sub-Saharan Africa, and its structure and operations draw upon the best practices and resources of both the public and private sectors.

AAF, Inc. focuses on youth leadership development, helping young people become responsible, caring citizen and acquire skills which will help them become an asset to their respective communities. Our programs also enable disadvantaged at-risk, low income Inner children, youth and young adults to develop leadership skills and promote opportunities for planning, decision-making and contribute meaningfully to their respective communities. Among our achievements is to be able to address and handle today’s most pressing issues affecting their daily lives, teaching young people the skills they need to succeed in life. African and American Friendship, Inc. “Youth Enterprise” expand their knowledge of business and business development and learn the skills that lead to financial independence and well-being. Finally, our agency have helped low income, disadvantaged youth and young adults improve academically and succeed in school. Our after school programs reinforces and enhances the skills and knowledge young people participating in our programs learn via academically beneficial activities. It is obvious that these activities include leisure reading, writing activities, homework help and games and recreational activities.

The African Bird Club is a UK registered charity which is managed on a voluntary basis by a Council of trustees. The Club was formed in 1992 following a proposal by a number of people with a common interest in African ornithology. About a quarter of the world's bird species, more than 2500, have been recorded in this region, with 332 included on BirdLife International's Red Data species list for 2005, the most recent summary of the world's threatened and near-threatened species.

African Child Trust (ACT) supports the education of orphans and vulnerable children of needy widows in Africa. We provide funding to help pay for child schooling and to provide necessary support for the widow and her family. In many countries access to education is not free or affordable for the poor. This practical demonstration of caring brings hope to the children and the widows and contributes to breaking the long-term cycle of poverty.

A-CET funds educational support programmes within Ethiopia through the local NGO - EYES which is managed by our trained and experienced ex-students. We are strictly apolitical and we do not see it as our remit to "lobby". We work within the policies and with the cooperation of the local elected government. We fund long-term scholarships for locally selected vulnerable youngsters who, without our support, would be unable to attend full-time education and we build/upgrade rural community elementary schools using local labour and materials. We believe these small scale targeted supervised projects are the most effective way of supporting development though education.

African Conservation Centre (ACC) is a not-for-profit Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to the development of African Conservation excellence. ACC places emphasis on a three tier approach of integrating Knowledge, Environment and Livelihoods in resolving principal problems facing Biodiversity Conservation in East Africa.

To change the approach of the management and utilization of natural resources to one in which the needs of human development in the region are reconciled with biodiversity conservation.

African Development Trust (ADT) is a British organisation founded in 2004 by a few development-oriented individuals of African background and dedicated for African development. ADT strive hard to provide those affected by war, famine and natural disaster with help and support socially, economically, culturally and spiritually every day of the year. Our aim is to be able to reach to the deep root of the problem and help solve it by addressing the issue worldwide and getting as much help as possible to those suffering and in need for a gentle hand and heart to accompany them throughout their misery.

AE is a partnership of approximately 600 staff and countless volunteers and friends representing ten national teams, a pan African mission team, a reconciliation department, a training department and support teams in ten countries across the globe. These teams, departments, boards and individuals have covenanted themselves to continue the mission given to AE at the start. Africa has many needs. African Enterprise, in partnership with the church, undertakes and facilitates relief and community development projects, including health care clinics, street kids, AIDS awareness, slum rehabilitation, and widows and orphan programs. Emphasis is placed on training communities to be self-reliant and to care for each other.

African Initiatives is a social justice organisation working with communities in Africa. Together we build self-sufficiency and confidence and empower people to fully participate in the decisions that affect their lives. African Initiatives supports communities to find their own long term solutions to the problems they face. As well as providing advice, training and resources, we also work with them to make their voices heard, stand up against corruption and lift themselves out of poverty.

African Leadership Academy was founded in 2004 with the belief that ethical leadership is the key to transforming the African continent. Founders Fred Swaniker, Chris Bradford, Peter Mombaur, and Acha Leke sought to create an institution that would develop, connect, and support those individuals who will lead the continent toward a peaceful and prosperous future. Today, African Leadership Academy is recruiting its first class of 100 young leaders from across the continent for entry in September 2008. We are also hiring a world-class faculty from across Africa and around the globe and developing a broad range of partnerships.

The African Lion & Environmental Research Trust works with all sectors of society throughout Africa to promote the development of sustainable lion conservation management plans. ALERT is proud to foster partnerships with stakeholders to collaboratively develop and implement African solutions to African challenges. ALERT promotes community action by raising awareness, motivating and empowering people to protect and restore their environment and improve livelihoods.

African Parks Network is an African solution to Africa's conservation challenges. It is the first private park management institution in Africa that takes on the long-term responsibility of managing protected areas, in partnership with Governments. Our approach combines world class conservation practice with business expertise. We place emphasis on achieving financial sustainability of the parks, principally through tourism, associated private enterprise and payments for eco-system services which all serve as a foundation for economic development and poverty alleviation.
