The mission of Americas Society (AS) is to foster an understanding of the contemporary political, social, and economic issues confronting Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada, and to increase public awareness and appreciation of the diverse cultural heritage of the Americas and the importance of the inter-American relationship.
More information
Established by David Rockefeller in 1965, Americas Society (AS) is the premier forum dedicated to education, debate, and dialogue in the Americas. Americas Society's Literature, Music and Visual Arts programs aim to create a space for interaction and enhanced appreciation for emerging and established cultural figures from across the hemisphere by presenting writers, musicians, artists, and scholars from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada to U.S. audiences. As the leading forum for hemisphere-wide debate, our public policy programs engage opinion leaders from the public and private sectors in positive dialogue at our fora in New York, Washington DC, and Miami, and in Canada and throughout Latin America, to exchange ideas and formulate solutions to the challenges facing the Americas today.
