NAC was established in 1980 in Norway to address the humanitarian crisis created in wake of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

NAC is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious organization working for Afghan peoples’ right to independence, promote democracy and support re-building and development in Afghanistan. NAC has its head office in Oslo and country office in Kabul. In addition, there are field offices in Ghazni and Badakhshan province in Afghanistan. This entire program works on a multi-pronged strategy which includes creating awareness in Norway through various information programs and subsequently raising funds for development work in Afghanistan targeting most vulnerable groups in remote areas of Afghanistan, especially women and children.
