More information
Originally a 'Not-for-Profit' organisation founded in 2004, Just for Smiles became a professional Public Service Foundation in 2008. It is run by a flexible and efficient Management/Secretarial structure which arranges free sporting activities for the handicapped residents of Institutions. Life does not treat everyone equally. Whether it be from birth, or after an accident, 100,000 people in Switzerland are currently polyhandicapped or have severely restricted mobility. Most of them, including numerous children and youths, live partly or permanently in an Institution. Since its inception – firstly in Swiss Romande and now progressively across Switzerland – Just for Smiles has collaborated closely with these places. Without Just for Smiles and its networks of resources, those confined to Institutions – despite their own exemplary courage and determination – would not have access to the activities we provide, nor to the physical and psychological benefits these bring.
