VLM follows a 400 year tradition begun by St.Vincent de Paul among the most neglected in seventeenth century France and who sent missionaries to Ireland and Scotland to work with the most vulnerable communities of that era. At VLM we are committed to working with and supporting some of the poorest people in Ethiopia & Nigeria. We do this through our hosts and mentors the Daughters of Charity, the Vincentian Fathers and through dedicated, dynamic and professional & skilled volunteers, at home and abroad. While on placement, our volunteers provide teaching and practical support to children and adults for periods of between four weeks and three months.
