GAVI's strategy is not a static process, it is a roadmap designed to help the Alliance respond to changes in the vaccine landscape and set clear milestones en route to the mission goal of saving children’s lives and protecting people's health through better access to immunisation. Since 2000, immunisation programmes funded by the GAVI Alliance has averted an estimated 3.4 million deaths in developing countries, making a significant contribution to preventing and containing infectious diseases and building healthy, self-sustaining societies.
