Animal Rescue was born (in Cape Town, South Africa). It was, and to some extent still is, dangerous to venture into township communities, but threats aside the then Voluntary Animal Rescue teams got cracking. With the aid of many private vets and the wonderful PDSA, Voluntary Animal Rescue was able to help thousands of desperate animals. Most dogs were covered in mange, whereas today, our Mobile Clinic staff maintains regular clinics to which communities can bring their dogs to be dipped.
