To work towards enriching the lives of impoverished children around the world with backpacks filled with school supplies through the partnership with other nonprofit organizations.

Give a Kid a Backpack Foundation started as a small effort to bring awareness about children in underdeveloped nations living and education conditions. The idea started in 2003 and became a non-profit organization by 2004. Give a Kid a Backpack is one way to make a difference in a young person's education. Since our inception, over 39,000 children have received a backpack filled with school supplies from the Give a Kid a Backpack. These backpacks are a symbol of hope and encouragement to continue going to school. Education is a proven intervention for improving the lives of all people, including children.
