Friends of the Lake District is a registered charity, founded in 1934, to promote and organise concerted action for the protection and conservation of the landscape and natural beauty of Cumbria and the Lake District, and to work with other bodies with similar objectives or interests. We seek to influence decision-makers to understand the importance of conserving and enhancing the irreplaceable landscape of Cumbria and the Lake District. Our campaigning issues have the common theme of protection and conservation of the special qualities of the landscape and natural beauty of Cumbria and the Lake District.
