More information
The Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) opened in 1933 and is one of the oldest science museums in the Western Hemisphere. MSI seeks to further public understanding of science, technology and industry, by providing visitors with integrated learning experiences centered around immersive environments that feature real things, real processes and hands-on interaction. Key exhibits include the U-505 German WWII submarine; the Apollo 8 space capsule; hatching baby chicks; a giant walk-through heart; and a visit to a coal mine. MSI has attracted over 150 million visitors and, at approximately two million visitors per year, stands among the top ten most visited museums in the United States.
