ChildRight wants to help liberate children and to give them a new start in life.

It all started with an idea of a Dutch Nobel Prize winner, the econometrist Mr. Jan Tinbergen. His extensive travel exposed him to the suffering of children around the world. The conditions of employment violated every known labor and human rights law. The children he saw were forced to work for little or no compensation for days on end, which left them without the hope of an education or a future. He saw children who worked in dangerous conditions, exposed to everything from toxic chemicals to the HIV virus. This vicious cycle led to a life of poverty and dependence, leaving each of these individuals without the hope of a future. These concerns made Professor Tinbergen decide to found ChildRight in 1994, "because it is scandalous that the world allows so many of its children to live in such miserable conditions". He considered the disparity between wealth and poverty in this world to be unacceptable. ChildRight is actively supported by 138 Nobel Prize winners, such as Mikhail Gorbachev and the Dalai Lama. Nobel Prize winners are calling on you, and on all of us: stop the exploitation of children. They should have the right for a better existence; and a brighter future!
