Citizens for Animal Protection is a non-profit organization, founded in 1972, with shelters, rescues and places homeless animals for adoption with loving families. CAP advocates respect and compassion for animal life and provides humane education to help prevent cruelty to animals. CAP offers a range of vital services. With an average adoption rate of forty-seven percent, CAP has one of the highest rates in the state and three times the national average. The dedication of staff and volunteers translates into more homeless pets being placed in loving homes. CAP also provides humane education to prevent animal cruelty and raise awareness in the community of the needs of animals.
