The Livingstone Tanzania Trust is a self-help development charity working to alleviate poverty through education. We believe that through grassroots participation we can help local communities realise their development aspirations in a cost effective and sustainable way. We believe that education is not just about students in schools and ought to include the whole community. We aim to provide long-term sustainable solutions so that when we walk away and the projects will continue to thrive. This exit strategy is at the heart of all we are doing because we want to create self-reliance and not dependency. Training middle management and developing entrepreneurial flare is key to this strategy.
