The charity Help an African Schoolchild Trust is non denominational and was officially formed in 1994 and presently works in Tanzania and Zambia. We carry out small community projects like providing wells for fresh drinking water or feeding programs for malnourished children. We also raise funds for individual schools to buy essential equipment and materials, with particular emphasis on assisting special needs schools. Help an African Schoolchild Trust assists financially and practically in minor and major building projects. We assist women’s groups in their development. he support from local schools and companies has been amazing and it shows that schoolchildren and the local community really do have a concern for others. Through child sponsorship, we presently have over 100 children in Zambia and 50 in Tanzania at both primary and secondary school who are being sponsored by the generosity of Channel Islanders.
