More information

We work to make the lives of children who are disadvantaged better in terms of both their current wellbeing and their future life opportunities. While we work with some of the most socially and psychologically damaged children in our society, we also work with children who are disadvantaged in other ways - children with learning and language difficulties, children with a disability, children with mental health issues or young people whose future job prospects are very limited. We are also aware that children face new forms of disadvantage such as childhood obesity and cyber bullying that are emerging as a consequence of changes to the way we live in contemporary society and we are aware we need to be working towards minimising their impact. To meet these various needs, we work in most of the contexts that shape children's lives -the home, the school environment and in the community.
