The Legal and Human Rights Centre (LHRC) is a noticeable non-governmental organisation which enjoys public backing in Tanzania. It stands out as a distinguished organisation partly because of its remarkable record on human rights and legal aid clinic. The organization was founded from a human rights project of another organisation; the Tanzania Legal Education Trust(TANLET). The LHRC has a mandate to operate throughout Tanzania. The target groups or beneficiaries of the Legal and human Rights Centre (LHRC) include the indigent, women, children, youths, men, people with disabilities, politicians, policy makers, legislators, law enforcers, community leaders, influential people, civil society organizations and the general public. We improve policy and legislative framework and community capacity for social justice, we strengthen partnership for human rights and good governance; and we improve institutional capacity building to ensure good performance and sustainability of the organization.
