PRCH was founded in 1992 by a small committee of concerned physicians in New York City, where we opened our first national office in 1995.We also maintain an organizational presence in San Francisco and Washington, DC, which enables us to conduct our recruiting, organizing, advocacy, and educational activities at the grassroots level.PRCH has two interconnecting program divisions that respond to the needs of our physician members and the public for information and services: External Affairs and Education, Research, and Training. These divisions provide opportunities for physicians to become more involved in the public discussion on contraception and abortion, to educate doctors about their responsibility to do so, to monitor state and national legislation tied to our mission, to communicate our message to the media, and to expand medical education in reproductive health. PRCH exists to ensure that all people have the knowledge, access to quality services, and freedom to make their own reproductive health decisions.PRCH mobilizes pro-choice physicians to promote, educate, and advocate about the importance of comprehensive reproductive healthcare.
