Baltimore Reads, Inc. teaches adults the literacy skills necessary to function in society, achieve goals, and develop individual knowledge and potential.

Baltimore Reads aims to offer instruction to adults in basic reading, writing, mathematics. It operates a Book Bank that provides FREE books to teachers, schools, community organizations and families, engage in community outreach, and raises awareness of the adult literacy crisis in the Baltimore region. Baltimore Reads encourages and administers the GED (General Educational Development) Official Practice Test, in preparation for the GED exam. We also provide 20 students per year with scholarships to cover the cost of taking the GED test.
