To promote and actively engage in planting and the regeneration of hedgerows on and near agricultural land, public parks or other public amenity spaces at any and every opportunity.

The English Hedgerow Trust was established to attempt to make some contribution towards the massive destruction of hedgerows in the British countryside. Hedgerows are a fundamental part of the heritage of the British countryside, defining the nature of the landscape and providing a major shelter and food source for a huge variety of mammals, birds and insects. Hedgerows are effectively a vibrant ecosystem, a huge nature reserve in our small and (over) intensively farmed country.
